Default Weight "Gain" from Flying?

Hi everyone! I have a question for ya'll.

On last Saturday morning, I weighed in at 157. Sunday morning, I flew from Orlando to Oklahoma City, with a stop in Houston. I ate alright while I was there. Not perfect, but somewhere in the range of 1600-2000 every day (I usually average around 1400). On Monday, I went to the zoo and walked for four hours, up and down hill. Wednesday, I was on two flights again. This morning, I weighed and I've gained SEVEN POUNDS!

Now, I know in order to have gained 7 pounds of fat, I would have had to eat something like 24,000 extra calories, which I didn't do. But, is it possible that, besides not drinking enough water, that the flying itself might have something to do with it?

I used the search, but didn't find anything. What do you guys think?

I don't think it was the flying itself, but most likely water retention from:
- dehydration recovery from flying (plane air dries me out like crazy)
- all the walking
- trip food, can be pretty high in sodium

Flying makes me retain water like crazy - my rings get tight. Keep on trucking and weigh yourself again later.

Oh, I'm hoping and praying that it's just water! It took me 2 months to lose those 7 pounds! Maybe I'll do the hot lemon water thing tonight.

Up your water intake. Dehydration will actually make you retain water. Like you, my weight is usually up after a vacation. We returned on Sat. This morning my weight was back down .5 lbs below when I left home a week and a half ago. Give it a few days and let your body get back into your normal routine. Eat clean, push the water, and you will be back down soon!

Flying makes me retain water. Since I have been hanging out here, I have taken healthy food to eat, and I have made a point of drinking lots of water. The last couple of times, my weight was not up after the flight and I attribute that to drinking extra water and packing my own food, which has less salt than stuff I might buy.

By the time I get off a plane my wedding ring, which usually spins pretty freely, is very tight. I just blow up like a balloon when I fly. Sounds like you do too.
