Default supplements & hemp seed

OK, it's a two-part question.

First off, what sort of supplements (vitamins, etc) do you guys take and why? I read an article a few weeks ago with Hilary Swank and she takes 12 supplements a day! What the heck is she taking???

Second, does anyone take hemp seed and what sort of results have you seen? A very eco-friendly granola mom told me about it and I am looking into it but want more opinions.

Thanks!

Part One: Nothing. Nada. I track pretty diligently in FitDay to ensure I'm meeting most or all of my mineral requirements, and I tend to just in eating a very diverse whole foods diet. If my eating has been WAY off course, I sometimes take a multi-v to compensate, but if I'm on plan, I see no need to supplement.

Part Two: Nope! But Google might reveal something, if no one here does.

I take a multivitamin supplement, a calcium supplement, glucosamine/chondroitin, and, OK now don't laugh, Geritol.

I don't believe my food choices while losing weight really give me enough vitamins. Unlike mandalinn82, I don't like cooking and preparing food a lot, so I figure I might as well take supplements to be "safe." I take the Geritol because I don't think I'm getting enough iron.

Jay

Edited to add: I also take vitamin D lately.

I take calcium because osteoporosis runs in my family. Nothing else.

And sorry, I don't know about hemp seed.

I add chia seed to my food daily. Randomly (a few times a week) I'll take iron, vitamin E, fish oil, vitamin D.

I've heard about hemp seed, but I don't know a lot about it. All I know is that I seem to get the most bang-for-my-buck with the chia seed.

I take a multi plus sometimes if I remember I take fish oil or Q-10. If you do start supplementing yourself beyond a multi and other simple stuff make sure you do at least a little bit of research to make sure you don't get yourself into trouble. Fat soluble vitamins like A can be toxic in high enough doses, as can other vitamins and minerals, so just be careful. No experience here with hemp seed.
