Ugh, so I caved and had a cigarette today. I don't feel as guilty as I think I should feel. It wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be and I really don't have a desire to start smoking like I was before. Is it normal to have a couple of bumps in the road when trying to quit? I am going cold turkey btw, I can't afford any of the "stop smoking aids" out there, and I don't think I smoke enough to need them anyways.
OK. Well, you're starting over then. Back to day 1, 2, 3...
You can't have just one--try to tell yourself that. Drink lots of tea and water to help yourself detox. But you have to get past the craving! Hang in there! Don't cave this time!
So you had a slip up. Oops! Just get back on track, make plans for when you get tempted, like always have gum or carrots on you when you start to have cravings. It's realy realy hard, but it's worth it i promis. you can do this!
Alright, so I ended up having two more cigs this morning, and then I threw them out... somewhere that I know I can't go and fish them out later! I just feel so guilty because I just threw $5 down the drain, and I don't have a lot of money to begin with. Hopefully remembering how guilty I feel will be good motivation for me to not buy another pack in the future!
You're flirting with it... stop! stop! don't do it! You can't have one or two and then think you've quit. You're starting over again now. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3... it will get easier after 3 days, and then after 2 weeks. But if you keep caving in, it will never get easier.
