Overeating, but healthy foods.
So today I'm over on the calorie front, but what tipped it over the edge/is *extra* is a potato and some baked beans, no spred or anything.
Im so frustrated.....but its very healhy food, surely it won make me as fat as same number of biscuit calories>???
YET a calore is a calorie is a calorie, so who am I kiddingright???

Cousin Emily!
A calorie is a calorie, but nutrition is more complex. You are probably better off for eating foods with more nutrition than foods that are junky. That means, foods with a balance of protein, complex carbohydrate, fiber, and a little bit of fat. blah blah blah you know this!
So just try to chill out for the rest of the day and start tomorrow again.
Jay

I'd much rather be overweight with good nutrition keeping everything nourished from the inside out, than be overweight from empty food. Please don't let my statement encourage you to rationalize, or trigger the thought of ; "heck, since I'm going to binge, I might as well binge on junk".
There's no good advice for me about binging/not binging, as I am barely in control/not in control... but I can't say enough about how healthy food (especially plant food) is the waaay better choice. I've gained weight , like 40 pounds of it , over about 10 years, on nuts and avocados and rice/ww pasta and ww buttered toast and potatoes... chocolate...and other caloric 'health' food. I can at least because of it I don't have high blood pressure, or am diabetic. I'm *only* overweight.... see ?

Emily, it's definitely an improvement to overeat healthy stuff then garbage. DEFINITELY. One day at a time. One day at a time.

Funny thing, I always overeat when eating healthy foods. However, I tend to under-eat when I have fatty junk.

I think one of the main advantages of living in this age is the ability of people you'[ve never met to say lovely things like that ^

From what I read, all calories are not created equal, and it really doesnt have anything to do with the calories but its "makeup" and how the body processes it. Potatoes are probably the junk food of the veggie family, because the dont pack quit the nutritional punch as most veggies, but I still eat them, only I opt for a sweet potato because the body processes the sweet potato differently .
I see that you are Vegan, and I think you could true appreciate the book " Eat to Live" by Dr. Joel Furhman. I think you would learn alot from that book, I did.
