A little bit of exercise

Today is my one week anniversary of doing a little bit of exercise every day. I am walking a circle around our property twice. It takes me 25 minutes. When I get better, I will do it three times and I will be getting in the 30 minutes required for health. Tomorrow the world!

I am so proud of myself and I couldn't have done it without reading what every one has to say on here, so thanks!!

:cheer: :woohoo: :cheer:

Great job!

I'm proud of you! Great work! And it was rather pleasant, I'll bet! :cb: :cb: :cb:

Ennay and JayEll, you two have been real inspirations. I just had to get over the idea that I had to do this perfectly, and I had to quit thinking about the weight loss aspect and do it for health.

Pleasant? Well, that I am still alive when I am done is nice. It will get easier for me if I keep it up.

It makes me so happy to hear this, you have no idea. I love how you said, "tomorrow the world". Getting in exercise gives one such a sense of empowerment. Way to go. Keep it up - there's no stopping you!

First off, congratulations on your first week of exercise. Way to go! Secondly, I like your attitude about weight loss. That kind of 'tude is what I am going to strive for...it will help me be less impatient. Thanks for the reminder.

I must say, that must be some big property!! Good job!! You'll probably enjoy it as you keep it up. I used to hate exercise, and now its got me hooked!

gailr42 09-25-2007 04:44 PM

I sure hope I get hooked.

We live on 8 acres of desert. There is a 500 foot elevation change, so I get to do a sort of up and down and around thing.

Nice work, you should be proud!!!

gailr42 09-25-2007 06:13 PM

You gals are so nice! Thanks for all the encouragement! I won't dare quit now!

Yes, it will. :) Truly, I wish more people would believe that whatever point they can start at, whatever they are capable of doing is fine and helps to build stamina. I think sometimes folks psych themselves out thinking they have to do so much right off the bat. I'm one of those people who started with the short bursts of exercise several times a day and gradually extended my times. I'm still at a level folks might consider moderate but it's better than the nothing I was doing before. It makes a difference! :running:

Wow, 8 acres in the desert with an elevation change? You SHOULD be proud. It must be hot, too. That's even more impressive than it already was!

gailr42 09-26-2007 04:37 PM

We have been having cool weather for some reason. We know to go out early in the morning or after sunset if it is really hot.

I had to really hustle on my walk today because I had a lot of interuptions and I had go before work. After driving the 35 miles to work, I got out of the car and my legs were like jelly. I think I needed to cool down a bit before sitting in the car.

:bravo: Keep up the great work!! Week is done and soon, exercise will become a habit.. Great job!! :)
