I'm in the midst of moving, so eating isn't going to involved barbecues. On other holidays, I've manage not to let food become the central point. I've planned what I will eat and how much, and then I follow the plan. I know that's easy to say and hard to do, but really, that's the only trick there is.

Oh, and I list every single thing I eat. There is no such thing as food that doesn't count.

Good luck to everyone!

Default labor day food

i just had 2 of the hebrew national 97% fat free hot dogs with 2 slices of Wonder Light wheat bread and mustard and saurkraut. Made a great bbq meal and feel like I stayed healthy! I reccomend it!
Does anyone here eat the jello sugar free/fat free choc. pudding? If so do you like it?

We will probably have burgers on the grill. Mine will be a turkey pattie on a piece of toasted french bread. The sides will be fresh corn on the cob (no butter), some kind of huge salad probably laced with tomatoes and Trader Joe's ff vinaigrette. Or I might put the tomatoes and lettuce on the burger and make myself a teensy potato salad. We have these little 'taters about the size of a large marble that we grew in the garden. I boil about three of them, cut in half and add onion, celery, some vinegar, a bit of plain yogurt and presto - potato salad.

I buy JennieO turkey patties, formed and frozen in a bag. I think they are pretty good. I compared these with some beef patties, and there is quite a big difference in fat and calories.

I really do have a lot of schoolwork to do, but if my hubby talks me into going to his sister's bbq, I plan on eating before we go and maybe I will take a fruit salad or something so that I can eat something while everyone else is eating. That is my plan, atleast. Whether or not I can stick to that is another matter!
