Default Scale Not MOVING :(

I KNOW it has only been one week.
But I have been walking every day, drinking tons of water, and hardley eating any carbs. I just want to see the scale MOVE a little bit, just to keep me motivated. GRRRR. I just want to cry - can't it move one little tiny pound?

Are you tracking the calories you are eating? Sometimes not eating carbs is not enough. You can eat a lot of calories in fat and protein.

It took about two weeks for my weight loss to finally kick in. Be patient... and count calories. Yes, cutting out carbs from your diet may make you lose weight, but I imagine the process would be slowed down if you don't have a calorie deficit. Perhaps you should keep track of your caloric intake and your activity level to help see how your progress is really going. Carbs DO pack a lot of calories, so if you're used to eating carbs, you're probably filling those calories in with fat and protein. The deficit is what matters most.

Also, I do believe PCOS may make losing weight more difficult, at least from my experiences - I don't have PCOS, but I have three friends who do - two are mildly overweight, and one is severely obese - they all have had issues getting into normal weight range - one of them even works out all the time and is very into healthy eating but even with all that remains a tad (not severely) overweight, anyway. I'm not saying losing weight with PCOS is impossible; there's an entire PCOS board who would beg to differ! I'm simply saying that it probably poses a few slight obstacles in your progress.

It's so hard with PCOS - those hormones being out of whack really mess with the metabolism. Are you taking anything for that? Often times, PCOSers find that taking Metformin really helps them in the weight loss department.

I have PCOS and have struggled in the past to lose weight. This time, I've found it easier - I think BFing is actually helpful to me in getting my hormones more normal.

Step away from the scale if weight is the only means of quanititatively assessing your success... 1) You did a great job this week and 2) you may be 1 week healthier

THUMBS UP! Weigh again next time.

TY everyone! I know that I have been getting healthier and eating better than I have in years, and doing more exercise than I have in a long time, so regardless of the scale I have to remember that. And while I know that PCOS will cause me to have a hrd time losing, you still always hope!
