Lisa, you've done a great job with your weight loss! Be confident and see what your doctor says. If he is not supportive, please find a doctor who is. I understand, I've been through this before. My former doctor did not seem to understand my sensitivities to certain medications, told me there were only so few that were out there to take. I switched doctors and this doctor who I've been seeing for about a year has immediately taken me off medications when I've had reactions and told me there are too many different types of meds out there to be taking one that I'm sensitive to. He also told me something this year that I've never heard from a doctor. He told me that he was proud of me for losing the weight I have lost and asked me how I did it.

I printed out a day in my fitday.com account and I'm going to take that to the appt to illustrate what I've been doing. The doctor is a real fitness nut for himself so maybe he can pass the site along to other patients who need help. We'll see.

Update

Well, my appt was today and I was ready. I had printed out some pages from my fitday.com account to show the doctor. As soon as he walked in, I told him what I had been doing, about 3FC and showed him fitday. I was surprised how interested he was. We discussed nutrition and exercise and diet. After my exam as he got ready to leave, he put his hand on my shoulder and said, " I want you to know I am very proud of you and your achievement. Your efforts are obvious and you did it all by yourself." I told him I had a lot of help from my friends! He even gave me the name of his fitness instructor and said I might like to join the group he works with. (It's called BodyShapers, if anyone has heard of it. They meet at 5 a.m. -thanks, but no thanks!)
Anyway, thanks guys for all the supportive words. I'm glad the appt is over and I'm glad the dr behaved as he should have!

Good for you to sticking to it, and for showing him your efforts. Good for him for letting you know he's proud, and for not being a jerk!

Way to go!!!

I happened onto this thread, and was just as indignant as the others, and wanted to give you the support you deserved...and now just read of what the doc said, YAY!!! You got the praise you earned, and I guess he's not as much a yuckface (love that!!) after all, LOL!!!

best wishes for your continued success!!:carrot:
