Well if creating the ticker helps, here's mine. I lost a pound this week! I know it's not a lot but I'm on my way and my clothes are fitting better and my arms are looking toned - I think I'm gaining muscle as I'm weight training too - so they need a ticker for "hey I lost 7 lbs but it would be more if I wasn't pumping iron..."

And if posting helps, I'll post, post, post, post, post too. This does help me stay focused on my goals. Believe me, friends and family don't seem interested in my constant whining about my weight problems... it helps to have others focused on the same thing - it's hard work to lose even 20 lbs like I need to.

Your right, every little thing helps. I need trivial little things like tickers to keep me on track/motivated. It bugs me when the ticker doesn't move, or moves in the wrong direction (like it's going to this week).

Horsey, congrats on your weight loss! I agree, posting helps me too.

According to Fitday, if you spend 1 hour typing posts, you burn 28 calories. :D:D:D

I love this site and am SO addicted to it!

As for my weight loss, I got off to a rolling start and lost... wow... twelve pounds in a month! I've stayed at the same weight for two weeks since, though. :( Now, I'm trying to get my metabolism to start kicking butt again, but I'm not sure how - my body seems to loooove the 160's.

This site has helped me a lot, though - it's nice to have a community full of supportive and like-minded people. It definitely helps me stay on track and be mindful of my journey... and yes, the ticker helps too! :D

I wouldn't say that it matters how many post you post a day...but i am a firm believer that the majority of the people here lose weight just because there is soo much valuable information on this site and super incredible support!! I know when i left this site for 6 months i not only didn't lose weight...but i gained back 7 pounds. Since coming back here, i have gotten my eating right back on track and lost 16 pounds. I just know i could not have done it without this site.

ps...I am a big believer in the ticker. I LOVE to watch my stars slide their way across the way!!! If your losing weight, you should definately make yourself a ticker. :D

I think it's all part of keeping your head in the game. If I come to 3FC throughout the day ... I'm simply more mindful of all that I need to do to be slim.

I probably do post 11 times a day. I always post in the Maintainers forum, the Atkins chat and my Exercise log. I also read the support forum and post there if it interests me. I also hop over to introductions to say Hi and welcome the new people. I often post an NSV or congratulate others on their NSV's. I love the General Chatter threads and sometimes post in them. So, yes, I post a Lot. But, I've been on the board for 2yrs. I also find that if I'm away, I'm most likely doing poorly with my eating and exercise. If it takes me posting multiple times a day to stay on track and keep this wt. off, I'm willing to do it. Plus, I don't work outside my home and have lots of free time to read and post here.

The more I come to this site the more weigh I lose. I noticed when I stopped coming I stopped losing and even gained a bit...

I saw this thread awhile back, but literally have been too busy to post here, or any other forums I belong to. I have been continuing losing my weight, in fact I am down to 269lbs now. I have added aerobics classes 4 nights a week, as well as 1/2 an hr in a dry sauna those nights. My posting in-frequency (if that is a word?) has nothing to do with my weight loss. This group is still an excellent forum for anyone wanting to lose weight.

Oh, by the way, in the past few weeks I have read the 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet book, as well as a few other cool motivational weight loss books. If you look at my blog, I have a link in it that shows my Amazon purchases.

Can I get an "AMEN!!!!"

Susan,
I completely agree! When I come to 3FC, I'm being more aware of what I do. This is my first visit in a week and I've gained a pound because I'm not following my plan for the most part. There is so much more I want to complete before school starts up that I'm skipping meals, not exercising and eating much later in the evening because I'm always busy. But I better make time again for myself now and not risk all I've done.
Time to get back in the saddle again! Lisa
