Getting back on track

  • The past 5 days have been horrible. I have not planned (which I normally do every single day including weekends) and have not been eating healthy. Years ago, I had an ED and was treated for it. I was told that it would never really go away, I would be dealing with it my whole life. Every 6-8 months it seems to come back for a few days (usually when I am completely stressed out beyond all belief). Then I get myself together and get over it. That is what happened on Friday. It continued through Sunday. Monday I said "Enough!" and stopped with the ED stuff that I knew was horrible for me. But I haven't gotten back "on track" yet.

Today I am determined, though. I've already planned my day until dinner and I'm going to stick with it. I tried this on Monday and Tuesday, but I guess I just wasn't ready. Today, there is no way I'm budging from my plan!
  • Good for you for getting back on track, Lori! I can see you're determined. Remember that we have a planning & journals thread going in this forum if you'd like to post there.

You are doing great, and I know you can succeed! Keep on!

  • Planning really does work...I need to do more of that so i don't find myself standing in front of the fridge wondering what to eat...and than choosing something fast, unhealthy and not satisfying.
Good for you Lori....don't let your old habits get the best of you!
  • I am glad to hear that you are trying to nip this in the bud. I hope today goes well for you. With your determination and your plan, I'm sure you'll be just fine. Good luck.
  • Yay for you!!

I just got back on track today. Even though I was super sleepy, I woke myself up and went for my run/walk this morning. I told myself all I needed to do was the minimum I was doing two weeks ago and I could call it a day. I ended up doing a half mile more!! So, don't EVER think that you're going to let yourself get the best of you - you just might surprise yourself! Yeah, I know that last sentence was confusing - but basically I wanted to say - You can DO it!!
  • Thanks everyone for the encouraging words I got my butt in gear and got back on track! I had missed my weekly WW meeting on Monday night because I worked late. I was going to skip altogether, but I went to a meeting today instead. I forgot how much just GOING there helps me. Reminds me of what my goal is and WHY I am trying to get there, why it is good to do it in a healthy way. Thanks again!
  • Awesome! It's good that you recognize it and are ready to bounce back. Planning is a great thing, but it can be hard sometimes. Especially when stressed, or faced with temptation. But you can do this! You've already come so far!
