  • It is pretty common for your system to change when you change your diet. As long as you are drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of fiber I would not worry about it unless you go more than a week or are in pain.

If you have drastically changed your fiber intake it can actually SLOW you down as much as it can speed you up. Too much fiber with not enough water can cause problems

I would not try anything to resolve it except making sure you are drinking enough water. Adding fiber such as metamucil, allbran etc can make it worse and cause horrendous gas pains if the issue is that your body is simply trying to readjust to your new way of eating.

Give it time, and if your body used to be a once a dayer, you will likely return to that status as your system gets used to the new food.
  • Your brothers body obviously wants to get rid of the junk food.
  • boys poop!
Quote: More often than this bout 3 times a week just makes me wonder because my brother can go 4 times a day and he eats junk food
LOL... I once heard that men poop more than women do!
And like bargoo said, his body obviously wants to get rid of the junk food. haha.
  • Uh oh Heather, you may be the Queen of Poop, but I'm the Goddess of Crap! Maybe we should get together and chat sometime. (My husband would like it if I talked to someone else about such matters).

I have a question for anyone really, but is Activia really much better than regular yogurt in keeping you regular? I know that yogurt has always made my digestion better.
  • Check out the "Activia" thread in the UK forum
  • My thred lol

That's only natural as men are full of....
  • My hubby and I have this conversation a lot. He can go 3x a day, where I only go every other day, or every 3 days. It's very odd for me to go every day. But I do also believe it adds weight to me, what can you do??
I've joked about giving myself an enema before I weigh in.
  • Hey Cora,
I had the very same problemo when I started dieting. When I was eating junk food I could easily go once or twice a day - a long came the life style change and I'm lucky to go every other day or two. At the begining of my lifestyle change I was quite worried so I went and bought some chocolate laxatives. Especially because I would start having the sensation of "i need to go" and then not able to (no guys I wasn't constipated lol). SO I would take a laxative when I went to bed (to make sure that it wouldnt effect the nutrients I was trying to get out of my dinner) and then have to go when I wake up. I've now realised exactly what improbable said above and that i'm not eating as much food and so I don't need to "go" as often! Occasionally I still take a chocolate laxative (once a week... or fortnight) but only if it's got to the point that I'm bloated. I can't seem to get enough fibre in my diet!! That said - when I'm drinking loads of water, even if I haven't gone for a couple of days I don't get bloated because everything is pushing, pulling and sucking in the right direction lol.
