I haven't been able to get back to eating properly since I went on travel for work. I got home almost 2 weeks ago!!! I've only gained back a couple of pounds but I'm afraid of going up even more. I just can't seem to find enough motivation and have totally and completely given in to eating lately
If I'm having a weak "moment", I like to log on here. Reading about everyone else who is sticking to their plan, and seeing how successful some of the people have been always inspires me.
The best thing for me to do would be to sit down, plan out a week's worth of healthy meals, make a list, go to the store and buy everything I need. Make as much as you can in advance (pack up lunches, make a huge pot of soup), have healthy foods at your fingertips.
I agree with the other posters so far. To get things in hand, you need to... get things in hand! There will always be stress, so that cannot be an excuse. Plan what you're going to do. Get some good foods in the house so you know what you're going to be eating. Don't give up! You can do this!

When I've been in this situation in the past, here is what has helped me:
Getting rid of the foods that are tempting me. Just throw them out and don't buy anything tempting until I feel like I have things under control.
Being accountable to someone, anyone. Having someone ask me what I ate during the day. In my case, my personal trainer does this for me, but it doesn't really matter who it is--your mom, a close friend, your SO, one of the planning threads here on 3FC. Just knowing I am going to have to tell someone everything I ate really helps me control my eating. I usually only have to do it for a couple of days and then I am back on track.
It's also not a bad idea to just do a reality check about how much you are eating. Sometimes when I am having trouble staying on plan, it is because I'm not allowing myself enough food. Are you experiencing a lot of hunger? If so, maybe you need to allow yourself a few more calories.
When you feel the urge to eat try drinking a big glass of water, chewing some gum, waiting 15 minutes, journal, exercise, straighten up the house, look back at your success, read, or have a cup of hot tea. You have to make a conscious effort to do these things, or the like, instead of eating. Eventually the urge to eat will pass and these things will become second nature to you. You have done so well, it would be a shame to go back. You can do this. You can definitely regain your edge again. Good luck.
In addition to all the great advice here, walk! Put on your sneakers and walk out the door and go go go! Robin, the water helps me tremendously. Unbeleivably so, in fact! THen when I go for a walk (via treadmill or outdoors, though I enjoy the outdoors walk so much more) I am good after! The hunger passes, the spirits are lifted , and it just creates one great feeling and reinforces the whole rest of the plan. Modkitten, go for it! Plan your meals for a few nights in advance and all else mentioned and remember............just one good day again under your belt will have you feeling so much better! Tommorow is a new day, wake up with boozooka in hand and blast away all those negative thoughts and march forward to a great day! You can do it!
Practically all my favorite people here have already given you a lot of good advice!!! I'm just here to say that you are not alone. I was in your shoes for quite some time. I almost decided to give up trying to lose and stick to trying to maintain. I was in such a funk about it! I finally made my decision (after a lot of planning) and got back on track and I'm losing again. Mind you, this is the first real loss since November, so I'm really happy about it. I can only say that it is you that has to make up your mind. Listen to what everyone is saying and take it to heart. Make the decision to change and plan, plan, plan! Good luck to you!
