Absolutely LOVE beets... hate brussel sprouts!!!
|
Aww poor brussel sprouts, I love them. They are like baby cabbages.
|
haha, not a big fan of cabbage either... :-p

HAHA... not a big fan of cabbage either ;)

Wow, there is much vegetable hate here!
I cannot stand: Onions. I will not and cannot eat onions. Hate hate hate. I will occasionally, though rarely, use them for seasoning, but I always chop them large enough that they can be removed from the dish. Cucumbers. I can tolerate them when they are very small and fresh from the garden, but those big baseball bat things from the grocery are simply vile. Cooked spinach. I love raw spinach and I can eat cooked spinach mixed in with foods. But a big bowl of wet gooey slimey cooked spinach makes me gag. Okra. Not the taste, the texture. Simey and bumpy. Bleck! I also have issues with slimey zucchini and eggplant, but like them when prepared properly. Yeah, I've got a huge issue with texture. ;) |
Carrots. Raw, cooked, in sauce, stew, soup - yuk all the way.
|
I like most veggies but I can't stand ginger root. I bit into a large piece when I was young and it tasted just like a bar of soap. I also hate the texture of zucchini, eggplant, and water chestnuts.
|
A lot of people hate okra and I can see why, if it's overcooked and slimy. But fresh okra, either raw or gently steamed is crunchy and delicious. Give it a try -- it's a whole different veg.

Definitely Bell Peppers!
:D My mom swears I used to eat them like candy but I hate them. They seem to over power every dish they are in. Most people think I am nuts when I tell them I hate peppers LOL |
Ha- so with you on bell peppers. I am a vegetable nut but they are the only food that makes me burp them the rest of the day. I can eat fresh hot chiles but the bells- NOPE. Love the smell as they are cooking, think I can have a bit and then...regret.

Cauliflower, brussels sprouts, and radishes. (Actually, I probably dislike more than I like!)
|
not a vegetable..it's a fruit..tomatoes..and olives! i absolutely hate them (but my family loves both)! ugh! i can only have tomatoes in ketchup or sauce form..maybe even sun or oven dried..olives in the form of oil..but not fresh..yuck!!!!! i cannot eat any type of squash or zucchini (cooked or raw on both), they have this nasty aftertaste that i cannot seem to stomach. i made some zucchini pasta with tomato sauce (yes, i also made the sauce from fresh tomatoes, a fully raw vegan meal) a while back to see if it would change my opinion about either, but i still don't like them..aside from that, i am at peace with all veggies..
absolutely LOVE onions though..just like my mother in law..i guess that's how we get along so well! my husband loves garlic, so us stinkers make a perfect match! |
For me I would have to say it is a texture thing. I love most vegetables, but I cannot stand:
Okra: Too slimey, tried it raw and did not like it either. Lima Beans and Peas: Too chalky. No matter how I cook them they seem dry when I bite into them. I figure since I will eat almost any vegetable and like other types of beans like split peas (go figure I like those in a soup, but not actual green peas), garbonzo, campanelli, kidney etc...that I am okay avoiding those three veggies. :) Oops, almost forgot to add one more. I love carrots raw, but detest cooked carrots whether they are just steamed or in a stew or casserole. Again, I think it is a texture thing. When I cook carrots for supper, I leave one serving out for me to eat raw and the family enjoys the cooked ones. |
I laughed when I saw this thread, here why
I hate, onions, lettence, tomato, celery, all peppers, radish, beets, raw broccoli, raw cauliflower, raw carrots, raw spinach.... maybe it would be easier to say the veggies I do like... I like corn, peas, green beans, cooked broccoli and cooked cauliflower, cooked spinach, cooked carrots, cooked caggage... thats all I can think of It really is hard for me to diet sometimes because of this, These are the low cal fillers and I really dont like any of them. Did anyone notice that I dont like ANY salad veggies? |
