Hi Angie! You should be able to find plenty of veg buds here! Please feel free to join me in doing the Eating to Live low fat vegan plan in another thread. I've been slowly becoming vegetarian over the last few weeks. However, I haven't "announced" it to any of my friends other than my DH. I prefer to say/think I'm living healthy. That way no one bugs me with questions.

I get alot of guff for eating vegetarian/vegan. People act really offended when I say I don't eat meat. I get so tired of defending myself!
I am a strict vegetarian whose trying oh so hard to make the leap into vegandom. I have had a hard time relinquishing cheese!

i don't really announce to people that i'm vegetarian unless it comes up.. but i'm in college still so there's plenty of people around who are either vegetarians or want to be, so it's not so much of an issue.

I've been eating vegetarian for years. I tried low carb but can't stomach the meat. I also tried vegan but couldn't maintain it with my traveling. Vegetarian I can do. I eat too many carbs though and feel bloated a lot. I'm trying to get rid of the excess carbs and find the balance of energy and nutrients that I need.

Hello Angie! Plenty of veggies around these parts it seems. Isn’t it the most ridiculous thing that people will actually be put off by your non-meat-eating ways. Really stupid. Maybe it’s the guilt that gets them, or just ignorance, who knows. Welcome to the veggie boards, look forward to hearing more from you.

I am a vegetarian (not vegan) since birth and I love it! My hubby is vegetarian too and so is our entire family. But I have no vegetarian friends and its a big issue for me to go for lunch/dinner at places like "outback steak" or "red lobster" where I'd go hungry in addition to the smell and sights.

Its good here in California to have so many vegan and vegetarian places to eat and lots of meatless options in the grocery store...plus its also considered kinda cool to be a vegan/vegetarian in this place. But I remember the last time I went to atlanta. even the head chef of a sheraton couldnt understand why I cant eat meat.... :?:

how much do you want to lose and what are you eating now?

Now if you said that you don't eat beans, people wouldn't have a problem with it...;)
