Just thought i'd stop in and post an intro! I'm new here (obviously!) and i'm also a new vegan who needs to be able to talk to other vegans (as well as vegetarians!) as I don't have much support for my decision at home. I've been vegan since March 12th and I was vegetarian for about 2 months before I made the complete switch! I also have to lose quite a bit of weight (not exactly sure how much, I don't have a scale to see how much I weight... but I know around 80-100 pounds ) My name is Amy, I am 19 years old... umm, I guess that's it. I can't wait to meet everyone!!

I've been lurking here for um about four years! Only started posting this week for some reason. So I'm new too although my join date says I'm not..

I've been lacto-ovo since age 19 am now 27, tried the vegan thing a couple of times but didn't manage. Am now following a program called Eat For Life which is practically vegan but allows for some animal products. I'm not having any for the first six weeks of the program but after that will probably have organic yoghurt, l/f cheese and eggs once or twice a week at the most. With the intention of eventually naturally dropping that too. at the moment I'm working on dropping salt - way harder than dropping meat for me!

Hey amy! Welcome! Ive been a vegan for about 3 months now. I know how anal family can be about this kind of decision...what with "ur gonna make urself sick" or "animals want to be eaten"..yup ive heard it all! But dont let them sway u...when u say yes to being a vegan..u say **** no to causing animals pain! And lets not forget the weight loss! I lost 40 pounds within the 3 months when i started and I think that was a very nice thank you present from the animals! :P

Oh, that list is horrible! I don't eat caviar but I thought they just collected the eggs from farmed fish, I didn't realize that they killed the fish to get them!
