bulgar?

  • So I bought a bag of bulgar on impulse and have NO idea what to do with it. Do any of you guys use it? If so how?
  • I've used bulgar before but I don't eat it often. Taboulleh is a pretty common recipe that uses it I believe.

Here is a taboulleh like recipe:

I did a google and found these:

  • Bulgur is AWESOME. You can cook it, then add some wilted spinach, a few pine nuts, and feta cheese. YUM! You can eat it like a hot breakfast cereal. Or put a bunch of stir not-fried veg with it. Use the micro to "sautee" pepper strips, onion, mushrooms in a tiny amount of water or veg broth and tucke the veg into some cooked bulgur. You can use it really any place you would use rice or quinoa, etc. It's good served cold with pears and blue cheese etc. as a salad.

    Enjoy!

  • I have used it in place of ground beef in chili and you could not even tell. It has the right texture and takes on the flavoring of the dish really well.
  • I love Bulgar and have about 3 lbs of it right now.
How do you use it in your chili? just cook up some and add while cooking chili? I could do that.
its so hard cooking for 1 and trying to eat well.
