How are we doing over the weekend chickies? Staying OP, working out?

Thus far I am and the scales were on their way down as of this morning :)

JulieJ08 01-03-2009 06:24 PM

I'm doing pretty good. I think the scales are about to go down. But we all know how hoping goes :dizzy:

Oh I needed you to ask this just now as I was contemplating a piece of icre-cream cake pie thingy. Did well today ran 5 miles and ate very sensibly. Now I just have to push away the craving b/c I have to run tomorrow and simple carbs do not promote optimum performance for me exercise wise, I end up feeling sluggish. I didn't eat it, yay!!!!!

Fat Chick B Gone 01-03-2009 06:30 PM

Then Jackie you know what to do!

Skinny Teen 01-03-2009 07:22 PM

I did great today! I stopped at the library and got some good workout dvds.
I also ran around town for about 45 minutes when I woke up.
Endorphins are my new best friend!

Hi all,
I'm reading Dr. Phil's "Ultimate Diet Solution" and one of the things he mentions is to have a place of accountability to check in (he says once a week at least) with your weight loss goals. I can't find any thread here that deals specifically with his plan, but I thought this would be a great thread to check in, since I'm a vegetarian and one of my goals for 2009 is to stay vegan. I'd like this place to be my check in but I'll try to check in every day, posting my menus and exercise routine for accountability.

Right now, I'm focusing not so much on doing a "diet" but on eating whole foods vegan foods. I've been doing this for a week now and even though I slipped up this weekend, I did feel great in just one week and I know I lost some inches (though didn't measure so don't know how much).

I know weigh in day was Friday but I'll be posting my stats as well as my plan on Monday when I officially start.

I didn't make it to the gym today, I usually take off a couple hours from adoption day to do that but it was a particularly busy day with lots of adoptions (including out foster, yay!), and one of my old fosters was there because his new family didn't want to deal with his food allergies and returned him. I felt bad for him and wanted to spend some time giving him some extra TLC. But I did get some exercise running dogs around outside for exercise/potty breaks. I spent the rest of the day tooling around getting stuff done and walked my dog so at least I wasn't on my butt all day. Eating has been just ok today, got groceries so I can do cooking tomorrow and stock up for next week.

JackieRn - Way to go, I know how easy it is to just eat the pie!

Going for a run tomorrow, maybe some lifting.

I'm a couple days late...but would love to join. 210 is my starting. That's about 10 lbs gain for me too within the past few months.

my goal weight is going to be 190 for the challenge, with my ultimate goal being 115lbs

Skinny Teen 01-04-2009 04:29 PM

Welcome MXGirl! Glad to have you on board! :)

So how's everyone's day going so far?
I just got back from a run, and now I'm making some tofu and veggies.

Haley8203 01-04-2009 05:55 PM

I'm doing good today, went to the gym with my stepdad for an hour and a half and self talked my way out of a binge on my drive home.

welcome to everyone that's new!

JackieRn 01-04-2009 06:17 PM

Doing very well today, went for 2 runs and feel pretty good. The vegetarian lifestyle suits me. I'm so glad I'm doing this and have people on this thread to be accountable b/c a lot of people in my life can't understand why anyone would stop eating meat.

Skinny Teen 01-05-2009 05:48 AM

Jackie, I understand where you're coming from with that. I've been teased about it a few times, and my friend's are forcing themselves to deal with it.
But always remember that it's your body and you can choose what you will and wont eat.

I've been doing pretty good... started tracking all my calories again today. I know I definitely HAVE to do that. It keeps me accountable. I also would like to start a blog. ...Maybe I'll work on that later today.

Breakfast today was 2 slices of whole wheat bread, 1 tsp. sugar-free raspberry jam, 1tbsp. peanut butter, and a golden delicious apple.

Lunch is going to be baby brussel sprouts with some vegan "butter" spread and lots of cracked black pepper. I'll probably have 2 servings of sprouts...so around 120cals.

Dinner will be some sort of curry probably. Maybe "chicken" curry...with morningstar chick'n. I absolutely love curry and just learned how to make it nearly perfect and authentic this week! I think I'll probably be throwing it into my menu quite often. Serve it with some brown rice...mmmm!

Today is going to be a pretty busy day for me.
