Default veggie vitamins?

I'm just a few days into giving vegetarianism a try. I was reading skinny *****, which I had no clue endorsed going vegan, and cried through the section on how animals are treated. I've wanted to go vegetarian for a while, and that was the push I needed. So, I'm wondering if you guys have any tips on where to buy vitamins? I'm ditching mine, which have gelatin etc. in them, but wasn't sure where the best source to get new ones was? Thanks!

Try Whole Foods or the Vitamin Shoppe... someone will probably be able to help you find what you're looking for ;-) GREAT BOOK, huh? The same thing happened to me! Good Luck! xoxoxo ;-)

I LOVE THAT BOOK!
I just got it at the library yesterday and I'm hooked!
The grocery and drug stores usually have them. Don't be afraid to ask and always check the ingredients.

I'm of the opinion that if you already have the vitamins, then continue using until gone then buy vegetarian. I've bought them at Whole foods, co-op type markets and online.

I have glucosamine/chrondrotin pills that I'm still taking despite the source being shellfish. I figure that I've paid the money, not using the pills won't help any animals and any future purchases will be vegetarian.

I love the book as well! I read it Sept 1st and have been vegan ever since! No turning back. I take a regular multi vitamin I've always taken and a vegetarian B12 vitamin just from the local store. Nothing special. You can do it!

Oh and one thing I will say is that if a vitamin doesn't say 'vegetarian' then it isn't whether it has gelatin or not. I think even if they are vegetarian, then it doesn't mean they are vegan. I've seen some vitamins advertised online as vegan but I haven't noticed any in the stores that I've been. You can't really know based on the ingredients whether it is vegetarian, it needs to say it on the bottle somewhere.

DEVA Vegan Multivitamin w/ Iron which you can get a 90 day supply on Amazon for $9.20 (+shipping).

I also take a B-12 supplement once a week that I picked up at CVS (CVS Brand) for about $6 (and it was on sale at the time - BOGO!)

Had blood work taken last month and my results came back perfect - so it looks like I'm doing something right! But I do agree with nelie. If you already have multivitamins that you are taking, just finish those up then go out and buy veg vitamins. It doesn't make sense to waste money you already spent.
