A good way to try new things is not to try too many at the same time. That way you get too much of a sensory imput and if you don't like one food then you'll remember it as not liking all the new foods.
Why not try buying one new food each week and look up different ways on preparing it that you might like. For instance, you might want to try broccoli, say, in a cheese sauce or stir fried rather than just plain steamed.
I think I eat around 7 potions a day of Fruit and Veg! I always have two choices of veg in the evening which is normally followed by fruit or a fruit salad.
Fruit during the day is usually with Breakfast and then it's normally something with Salad for dinner these days....
I hate veggies so I can safely say I don't get my 5 a day there. Although I think tomato soup counts. I do like potatoes but they aren't classed as a vegetable on that list unfortunately.
I like most fruits though. Mostly satsumas/strawberries/raspberries/grapes etc.
For those who are wondering, you have to be careful about bananas as they are a starchy fruit, like potatoes are a starchy vegetable. Better to go for the water-based fruits. But, yes 100 cals of banana is better than 100 cals of chocolate.
