  • Ooooooh maybe she'll tell you you have a "gift" like that wierd woman.... Ask if it's sparkly!
  • T'Was probably me going on about Stollen, SarahAnn - I love it too. Going to see if I can get some when I am next in Kingston. Pity there isn't an Aldi's nearby.
  • Morning all

Bloody cold here this morning 26 degrees at the moment. I've just run outside in my jammies to start Hannah's car, it's not as frosty as I first expected, but does need some heat to clear, she'll be all set in a few minutes when she goes out to school.

Frus, isn't Mr. Frus a darling, bless his cotton socks. The drawers sound nice, I bought a lovely set for Hannah a while back, I'm really pleased with it and it fits all of her folding clothes in. It looks really nice and is surprisingly sturdy. Dave didn't swear once while putting it together, amazing feat for him, but it did take him two and a half hours

So the hoover's gone now then? They'll be another thing....happens in threes. Last week it was the dryer for me, then on Friday night I realised the fridge freezer wasn't as cold as it should be, was still the same the next morning so Dave and I spent over an hour huffing and puffing and getting bruised and bashed trying to take the broken one out, down a wobbly front door threshold, down two steps, over the bumpy grass and into the garage and bringing our one in from the garage, same route, amazing how heavy one of those things can be, and they were both empty! Before the move of the fridges however, I had showered and when I went to dry my hair, my hair dryer no longer blows hot air out.... there's my three! AGH! I've put a new hair dryer on my Christmas list.

Helen, sounds like you enjoyed your run last night, good idea parking the car there so you have to go...sounds like you're all back on track, not that you were really off... although I still have a smile at the fact you used loo roll as a pillow in your bathroom

Sarah... @ Mr. Sarah with the dogs. Dave hardly ever takes our two out on his own, he says it's too hard, God knows what he'd do if we had another. A psycic hey? My brother went to one about 12 years back and thought she was a load of rubbish, didn't believe a word she said until she started naming family members birthday's from my Nan talking to her, and she was actually correct about the place he's living at the moment...now he's more of a believer.

Speaking of which, we have a new programme on over here now with a phsycic, her name is Lisa Williams and she's British, she's a big hit, anyone heard of her over there? Wild hair....

Ok, that's about it for this morning, time for another cup of coffee before getting ready for curves.

    Later taters
  • it is was me on about the the Stollen!! £8 at the German market so it should be nice at that price!!
  • Morning .

Chris I saw an advertisement for that Lisa Williams chick. I dunno, I'm skeptical even though I do believe there are ghosts etc. I was hooked on Most Haunted for a while (yeah laugh all you like! ) until I read the expose on Derek and the show by one of the tabloids! Now I might watch it for the comedy factor.

Have you ever watched Crossing Over with John Edwards, Chris? He's probably the nearest thing in my opinion to the real thing, even though when you watch him, some of his questions are obviously "fishing" ones.

It's bloody cold here too this morning and we had a full frost last night, was 25 when I set off for work!
  • Lynne, hellooo, My daughter LOVES Most Haunted....we've spent many a Friday night watching, she jumps and I laugh...especially when Derek gets possessed...what was the expose on him?

I've seen John Edwards, I think I read his book too... was it his CG? Or someone else... absloutely riveting, and made a whole bunch of sense.

I've been out for a walk with Pen and Lew, the sun is lovely and bright but it's still bloody cold out. Donned the scarf and hat this morning. Met that horrible husky...and a little yappy thing that was out at the end of the road as well...both the owners were chatting to each other and they did put their leads on, so no action in a doggy fight, thank God. I keep going different ways, so as not to meet up with horrible husky, maybe I'll just have to go out later when he's gone home, but then that will really mess with our scedule, Pen and Lew know, that when I've got back from curves, I have a wee, grab a pooh bag and we're off...

I've also poop-a-scooped... all of it was frozen so it was very easy to pick up.

Got some laundry going and need to continue doing some wrapping of pressies... have a good one all.
  • Chris, about the expose. Do you remember the guy they usually have at the end of the Most Haunted? The psychologist or whatnot who "debunks", or tries to anyway, what the team have found? Apparently he got sacked quite unceremoniously at the end of one season and promptly went to the Mirror (I think) with his story. He reckoned that Derek plays up getting "possessed" (obvious imo) and does heavy research into the places he is going to visit. He also reckons that the producer Karl (Yvette's husband) hypes up the team by making up that he is hearing/seeing things. If you noticed, a lot of their crew seems like the jumpy sort anyway (especially the make up girl!) so all they need is a slight prodding from Karl and they're off hearing footsteps and seeing floaty things .

By 'eck, can you tell I've watched it a few times?

I watched Derek's own show "Ghost Towns" a couple times but his theatrics were getting a bit much even for me.
  • Hello everyone. Lovely sunny cold day here. I finally got my christmas shopping started. Still have the bulk of it to do though.I might go out tomorrow.I picked up christmas stockings and mincemeat at the British shop. I used to always make mince pies on Christmas Eve. Just got back from the commissary with the last of my Thanksgiving food shopping. So we wll eat well.

Chris that book was by James Van Praagh Talking To Heaven. Really good makes you think.

I bought the new candy cane kisses yesterday as you need some chocolate around this time of year. Very nice just like eating a chocolate candy cane.
  • CG there are also new kissed called truffle, very tasty.

I just burned a batch of cookies I was making for the kids for school tomorrow, we are having a Thanksgiving meal. They were slice and bakes, who burns those????? I guess I do. Anyway I'll be running out to buy something tomorrow, and now my condo smells like burned cookies I did eat one of the crumbly ones (OK 2). I ran 5 miles so I don't feel too bad, and I got a free hour of personal training at the gym because I complained about something.

Sarah, how was the psychic? I went to a psychic once, she made me cry, now I barely remember what she said.
  • That's the one CG... brilliant book, have watched some of his shows too and he's very deep...

RSG... two cookies for a five mile run and a free hour of personal training... don't even worry about them.

Aren't you a nice teacher making cookies for your kids...I used to sahre pretzels with mine, but only because we used them as bribery, sorry R+...LOL!

I've just had a lovely hot bath, it's bloody cold out again, supposed to be rather nasty for Thanksgiving now, the fire is going so it's nice and warm inside.

Time for a cuppa and bed now... see you all tomorrow.
  • Yay, the first batch of Christmas presents has been ordered from Amazon. I don't actually have much family so don't need to get stuff for too many people, and the list of what else I need is looking nice and manageable now I've sorted some of the trickiest people out.
  • Good one Helen.

I can remember saying I would NEVER order things from the internet. Now I do most of my book/CD/Clothes/Pressie shopping on there. In fact when I go actual physical shopping at the weekend it will seem rather weird.....

I have most of the pressies now just bits and pieces to get. Yay!
  • Chris I bribe my kids with food all of the time, today should be interesting they are all bringing something in for a Thanksgiving meal. I'm a little nervous to try some of these dishes

Regarding the holidays I love my family, we have all decided that we are fully able to buy ourselves anything we want, so we decided to tame the buying this year. We are only spending $50 per person (and I only have 3 to buy for) and only buying fun little things that we think the person may like. Takes a lot of pressure off, we used to go completely overboard. I will be able to do my shopping in one afternoon and this makes me happy.
  • ALRIGHT........!

I'm raring and ready to go! Yesterday I was feeling bleak! And horrid and below par and all miserable. Well this morning I stood on the scales and felt pretty defeated!!! 12 stone 8lbs!!! That's half a stone on on honeymoon! Well I suppose when in Rome....

So I was reading some online fitness newslettery thing and it says Consistency is key... So I've made myself a consistency spreadsheet and if I fill in all the little boxes in gold before Christmas day then I'm going to buy myself a necklace from Tiffany. It's super-special and not toooooooo expensive, and I am putting money away for every fitness thing I do right, so I can take it out of my treat fund

My goals aren't weight-based at all, I just have to do everything right (and I have allowed myself some treat days and some rest days) and hopefully I should be back down to nearer 12 stone for Christmas.
  • I am SO glad I went to the gym!

I did super-heavy squats (50kg) then some calf raises which suck, I hate building up my calves!!! PLUS I can't grip enough weight to work my calves to failure. I might try a barbell on my back next time!

THEN I did some interval training, I'd say HIIT, but it wasn't really high intestity, just fast walking and a fwe running intervals, but it's better than nothing and I worked up a sweat! I encountered a lady just coming into the gym who looked very "groomed" and she kind of took one look at me and you could see her thinking, "Urgh! Sweat!"

Sarah - how was your psychic?
