  • At least they came back!!

I'm getting slightly hyperactive! I'm not sure why!

I'm exchanging e-mails about hummus (long story) and I think I've won! I was almost stumped when I got one that said - the hummous died of various tumours - but I replied with "Don't start rumours about the exhumed hummous with the tumours..." I haven't got one back! Ha! I win! YAY!

Just had stir fry with off-smelling beansprouts! They smelt slightly musty when I fried them yesterday but they had 5th August on the date. D'you think they'll be poisonous? I could do with a day off work!
  • Wooh! 2Frus - you look like a proper laydeeee!

    Right regal!!
  • Dogs aren't telling what they've done with the kids - I've just texted their Mum to let her know her kids have disappeared - she doesn't seem worried. No great suprise there, then!

Bognor! Just realised the kids have got the dogs' (very expensive) leads! Grrrrrr

DH on his way home with 'surprise'. Oh dear.
  • Hello everyone

I just took a walk down to the shops and I saw this girl I havent seen for a couple of years. We went to school together well we did until I got a transfer
because I hated it so much. She was always a biggish kind of a girl but a few
years ago she got so skinny in fact I thought too skinny but maybe I was just a tad envious she had her picture in the local paper at the time she lost it by going to Slimming World. See's her today and merciful jesus she had packed it all back on again. It kind of panicked me and I thought oh god supposing I do that again. As I have lost and gained before and it is a horrid feeling so what did I do but come home and have two slices of toast with cheese on that I didn'treally need and an alpen bar. The majority of the time I am find with food
and I've been at this weight for over a year now. It's down to me really
I either carry on making good choices or go back to being a fifteen stone
barrel. I know which one I am going to choose!!

    Take good care everyone

    Michele

    SW 14 stone 10lbs
    CW 10 stone 4lbs
GW 9 stone 7lbs less if I can

    Height 5"
  • Miche - a lot of people do that. I did it in the past (lost and gained it all back).

But, consentrate on her and what she has doen and say to yourself it will be different for you this time!!
  • Me too, I've yoyo'd too many times to count over the years. Usually its because I've used food as a kind of tranquilliser when I've gone through bad times - so maybe its the same with her.

I'm hoping that this time I've learned that eating a lot of food doesn't fix problems, it just creates them.

Michele, remember - you aren't her - you're YOU. You've learned your weight loss lessons well because you've kept the weight off and maintained at your current weight for a year - thats SUCCESS - now all you've got to do is build on that success by losing the last few pounds.
  • Quote: Wooh! 2Frus - you look like a proper laydeeee!

    Right regal!!

    A LAYDEEEEEEEE not me

You just ask the kickboxing lads
  • I went out last night and had 5 mins to order before the kitchen shut and I could only see one veg thing on the menu so I had two starters and 3 pints.

Frus will be a married laydee soon, then she'll have to behave herself.
  • NEVER gonna happen (that's the behaving I'm talking about )
  • Thank you for your wise words.

I just had a mad moment. When I put my weight back on that time I was choked
and felt such an absolute failure. But your right I am a success I am on the
    home stretch.

Went out for a walk/run feel heaps better. My boy has put some more
tunies on the nano for me. Girlies our children and I are off to the seaside
tomorrow. Going to make some yummy sarnies. Oh and I popped into
New Look and bought a new white vest.

My friend has got the tickets for the Constable exhibition on Saturday
    at the Tate National.

Remind me Frus what date do you get married?

    Michele
  • internet wasn't working again today, but I needed to see how everyone was doing.

Lou - sorry that you've been having a bad time, it's horrid when your boss isn't very supportive. If you are doing the MSc at a different place will the days you need off from work be different too? You could try talking to your HR department and seeing what your position is. I was under the impression that the NHS was supposed to be supportive of efforts to gain more qualifications.

Sarah - sorry you're still ill. I'm glad the dogs came back, and I hope by now the kids have reappeared with the leads as well

Michelle - we've all done the yo-yo diet before now, but as Sarah said, this time you HAVE stuck with it. Don't lose heart, if you stick to your plans, get back on them after a blip and ask for support when you need it you should be able to keep the weight off for ever.

Frus - I'm beginning to think that you are mad. Hummous!?!?

Helen - hope your knee and hip are getting better

I'm just back from my run. I did 2 miles of slow jogging/fast jogging/not quite sprinting/walking in 24 minutes and I am now beginning to compose myself again.

I'm p'ed off with my sister. I bought her a prezzie coz I saw it and knew she wanted it, and I know she got it, but I haven't had so much as a "thanks" by text for it.

Got to go and cook a complicated meal now. I had Helen's recipe for Aubergine and Pine Nut Pasta last night, and there was enough left over for lunch today as well. V. nice, and seems to get even nicer when eaten cold the next day!
  • I've been lurking since I joined up because there's not much for me to say. Busy working and studying, blah blah, very boring. I'm finding it easy to stick to my diet, and exercise is no problem because I walk to work (40 minutes each way), so no news on that front either. Yeesh, I'm almost putting myself to sleep just typing this! Nevermind, maybe something interesting will happen to me next week.
  • Frus you look amazing in that dress. If you are really worried about the tummy although i can't really see it I'd recommend the M&S shapers range seriously the pants can take a couple of inches off your tummy and I think they do things that go round the tummy like corsets too they are really really good and are quite comfy.

YP - Nothing wrong with having a drink every now and then good that you enjoyed your spanish class

michele I think when you diet you find that maintaining is even harder than losing weight and its best done by getting to a diet that you can live with and enjoying it, then you won't slip back into old habits. I think its a lifetime thing its not yay i'm slim I don't ever have to worry about my weight again. Wish it was easy lol.
  • Humous

We've just watched the last Dr Who and I cried BUCKETS OMG! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Oh and Sarah - the ebay thing worked out ok PHEW!

    Beddy bies for me
  • Morning all! I'm off to gym this morning! I'm feeling bright and sparky and ready to go. Has anyone tried the Dorset Farms mueslis??? They are ever so good. I have a half serving (180 cals) with a big dollop of low fat Greek Yoghurt and chopped up berries. A nice change from the porridge (OMG I'm turning American I started to type oatmeal - horrors)

My order came from Sainsbury's tonight, I was impressed. Zero substitutions, everything was there, delivery man was 40 minutes early. I'll do that again!
