Cheers for that. I do not actually flush - it is just the awful sweating - night and day!!! I feel I should stay in the shower!!!
|
Well done Mands :bravo:
Happy Birthday Sarah  :woo: I'm sure Closer put words into their mouths Frus. ;) They meant thank you Frus obviously. |
:faint: :faint: I am SO :hot: It's worse than Hyde Park in my office. :faint:
:tantrum: Can we have a thundery storm please? At least I am sweating out the pounds! |
It is unbearable isn't it. My office would normally be cooler in the afternoons, but I am keeping my office door open to try and create a breeze for those on the other side of the corridor with south facing windows, so I'm just getting hotter and hotter because there is no breeze. If the wind would just blow, it would probably be quite pleasant.
At this point I am questioning my plans to go for a run this evening :?: |
Ewwwww no running in this heat PLEASE :faint: Why not wait till about half 8 when the heat goes out of the day a little bit? Either that or 5am!
|
We just had a gorgeous thunderstorm with torrential rain but it hasn't got rid of the thundery hotness. :hot: :hot: :hot: I feel so sorry for all of you at work, at least I can sit here :comp: next to an open window on my left and with a fan trained on me on my right - and I can also chose how much or how little I want to wear... :dizzy: just so long as I remember to put something on when the doorbell rings.
We took the dogs swimming again this morning. When we're at home they have pretty much given up on eating and just lie panting on the kitchen floor which is cooler and theres a crossflow of air from the back door. George keeps coming up to me with sad eyes and puts his head or paw in my lap and sighing - you can tell he's trying to tell me that he's had enough of the heat now and can I please turn it down. |
Awwwww poor George. Haarumph too! At least this :hot: is stealing my appetite! I hope it does the same thing in Nice when I am faced with yummy French food!

Naughty Kylie sneaking big announcements onto the Exercise forum!!!
|
Naughty me, I know!!!! The Amsterdam half has got be cooler than what we faced yesterday!!!!
I growled that there was no mention of you or your company during the Posh and Becks ball thing. It made it sound as if Posh went out the back and made the frame herself in the shed! Heaven forbid, she might break a nail!!! :D It's cool up here today. I went into "racehorse rehab" today. My legs feel completely shredded, so I whacked on some deep heat, then went to the pool and swam and water jogged, and I feel much better now. If it's good enough for Wayne Rooney it's good enough for me ;) I can't believe where the day has gone!!! Time to think about dinner!!! |
Exercise forum? Amsterdam? :smoking:
|
That might help with the pain of a half marathon ;)
Is it wrong that I want to do a half Marathon now :tantrum: :?: |
:lol3: Ohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I have a great mental image of Posh going out to her garden shed, getting her folding workbench out and making Jen's frame.
I did actually enjoy the bit about David taking the mickey out of her about only cooking mince... Back to normal eating - well.... 'normal' as in the way I've been eating for the past few months. DH has been doing the cooking over the last few days and I promised him I wouldn't stick so closely to my nutrition programme/calories so we could have a couple of the dishes that we haven't been able to eat and have missed. The food was delicious but I really don't like the way my body reacted to the higher fat content so I'm glad to be going back to my normal food. Even DH said it was making him feel a little 'tummy-ish' which is unusual for him. |
Has anyone else read Skwigg's blog today - it makes very interesting and thought provoking reading.

 Yuh huh! I liked it, but I'm not in the mood for pondering on the "Why I don't do stuff". I'm doing it now. I'm not going to stop. I think discipline is great, but yes it is seen as bad, but you have to have it! Yeah it would be great if we did what we felt like, but getting up, going to work, working out, eating healthily all takes discipline. I feel sad that looking after our bodies is seen as an after thought in this way. Like, we HAVE to go to work to earn money, and we HAVE to go to the gym and eat right so we don't get fat and lazy. That's all there is to it.

Good morning everyone!
Well I went for my run last night. It took serious motivation to get as far as the door, and during my warm up phase I kept trying to tell myself that I should just walk it, but I didn't listen :carrot: . I felt good after my run and was walking along smiling to myself like an idiot. However this morning I am back to aching in my lower back and stomach, and the bloody dog tripped me up this morning so I have a grazed knee and palms, and I got attacked by some nettles as well. At least the heat is not so bad today  Frus, you're right about discipline, it is the most important factor. My trouble comes when I let myself off (it only has to be once) and then I start on the slippery slope to overeating / no exercise again. That is something I have to work on - getting back on the wagon once I have fallen off. |
