Today's compliment count - 2. One - "have you been on a diet?". No, I just lost 46lb by accident and would really like them back if you find them.

I'm feeling good at the moment. Vegetable eating going from strength to strength too.

I love compliments like that YP1... some people don't know how to give compliments at all. My favourites are "wow, you aren't looking so fat in those jeans anymore" or, "you been laying off the french fries, Kyles?"

Never - "you look wonderful". So I just tell myself that, and be done with it.

I've just been out and bought a new bike! Been looking around for one for ages and this morning I saw one I liked for not too much money (well more than I'd like to spend but it was a bargain!). So I rang the shop up and told them I'd be round at lunch time! Hahaha! Took it for a test ride, only done 2740 miles! In 9 years! Yes folks that's an average of 300 miles a year!

Anyways, the guy at work who's a bike nut too took me round and had a check it out for me (cos I'm just a girl!! :lol3: ) and I took it out and it's luvverly! Am well and truly chuffed! :D

And it's red too, like my other bike... So I won't have to buy a new helmet (which is red too!) The other half doesn't know yet! Hahahahahah!

I've been a gym member for a year! And what's more surprising is that I'm still going regularly...

I also suspect a conspiracy. Why does the new job that's just come in to work on involve negotiating a contract WITH A CHOCOLATE MANUFACTURER.

It's just not fair to expose me to temptation like that :(

Nice bike Frus :) and a low miler too :D

Got people over from England so been a bit scarce lately :( whats the next challenge? I NEED to lose weight..its not a question of vanity anymore :dunno: so bring it on

I need to loose toooooooooooooooo. ;) Summer is rubbish at this weight. :( I can't even stand sitting at computer for hours in this heat

BritinNJ 07-12-2005 11:20 PM

118 degrees in the SHADE here today! I must have sweat pounds off just hanging the washing on the line... by the time I'd finished, the first lot on the line was already dry... rather hot here today, even if I do say so myself.

If I didn't lose from the heat, I must lose from three days of runny bottoms that I've had since the wedding... being away for three days to be in the wedding, has played havoc with my belly...I'm sure you're all so thankful I am sharing this :)

The dress was tight, but everyone said I looked wonderful... I think I looked old and FAT.. and they're all lying. I'd post a pic, but can't resize to post here... any offers of help? :)

veggie 07-13-2005 06:03 AM

I'll resize for you if you want. I'm sure you looked lovely. :D

veggie 07-13-2005 02:05 PM

I've put them in the pic thread. :D Maybe we should ask nicely for a UK members gallery...or not.

aarrrggghhh

alcohol. Gets me every time. Met up with a couple of mates (who are, by the way, both fatter than me), and suspect I drank one or two drinks too many. Or maybe three or four too many.

And maybe mixing vodka, lager and wine isn't a great idea. I think I'll have to be gentle with myself in the gym in the morning...

veggie 07-13-2005 06:41 PM

Mixing vodka, lager and wine sounds a great idea to me but then look at my tracker.

I have just booked to see Rufus Wainwright (again)...in December :D now how many pounds can I lose before then? ;) I'm so excited only 20 weeks to go :p :cb:

Kylie. Stop reading now.

I wanted to go to the Next clearance shop at lunchtime, there aren't any changing rooms there so I decided to go into Next on the way and try a couple of things on to check that I am a size 18 there, my measurements look right on the website but you can't check often enough! Anyway, I picked up two pairs of trousers and a skirt. I didn't want to buy them necessarily, just using them to test.

Anyway, the trousers were fine (no need to try the 16s on, unfortunately), but the skirt was a fair bit tighter than I was expecting, and there was a tiny bit of bulge at the top. It was sitting higher up round my waist rather than on my hips which is where I'd expected it to be, but it wouldn't fasten further down. It looked really nice on though, and I was starting to lose my willpower and consider buying it. I told myself not to, and took it off.

It was only then that I noticed the label. Size 14!!!! :faint: No wonder it was tighter than I expected! I'm just amazed I got it to fasten!

Anyway, I didn't buy it, and I didn't buy anything in the clearance shop, but I did get some jeans from Gap for £9.99 which are a tad too small, but they fasten (there's just a bit of overspill), so I figure it can't be far off and I wasn't going to turn them down at about 25% of their original price.

kykaree 07-14-2005 02:41 PM

I've got over my jealousy now I am buying a size 20!!! So well flippin done to you madam, and I don't hate you anymore!!!

When you get down to 199 before me, then I will hate you again!!!!

miranoron 07-14-2005 04:59 PM

Size 14?! That's awesome! Well done! :D
