Hi bohobabe, welcome. No weight loss too big or small to join in here. Once you have lost yours, you can have a bit of mine, you might do a better job of losing it that I have!!! LOL!!! Where did you travel to? I am originally from Australia but moved to the UK three years ago, I did leave my scales behind in Australia, I just wished I left quite few pounds over there as well!!!!

hey kykaree! I did the whole east coast from sydney to cairns! was amazing!

Mary, wow! 90lbs. That's amazing.

I'm calorie counting. Weighing and measuring everything and writing everything down. It seems to be going OK so far. I'm eating about 1800-1900 cals per day and I've broken it down into 3 meals, 2 snacks ( mid morning and afternoon) and MOST importantly a pudding. It means I never get too hungry and I know I'm going to be eating within a couple of hours.

I went to slimming world for a few months last year and lost 3 and a half stone, but then got stuck for about 10 weeks, 1lb off followed by 1lb on. Changed jobs, couldn't get there and put 2 stone on. ;)

But since I've been weighing everything I realise I was eating far too much. I think it the 'free food' thing works if you have a normal appetite. But if you are a walking bottomless pit (moi) given carte blanche to eat pasta, rice and potatoes all day is not a good idea. ( Isn't that how Sumo's bulk up?) :sumo:

Mary, how did you lose your weight?

P.S. Weight in day tomorrow, so I will see if my mini-challenge of staying in control on my business trip paid off.

The slimming world concept wouldn't work for me either. I really like the look of Scottish Slimmers, I love their Boost magazine, and it seems to make a lot of sense, and you can fit your own style of eating into the plan, like low GI etc.

But for now I am just plugging away on my own, with you lot to help me!!!

Gosh, that's a dramatic loss. How are you managing with the changes in clothes sizes?

I moved house in February and threw out loads of clothes that I had been keeping for when I eventually lost weight again. However, it's been such a long time since I could fit into a 18 that most were hopelessly out of date, (Unless shoulder pads came back in...).

So, oh dear, I'm just going to have to go clothes shopping at regular intervals :smug: .
