Bit late ;) but the healthy eating range at asda is good, well the veg stuff anyway.

In the latest sw mag it has low c beer in it I think this meant I had to buy some, so I did. :D

The HE A choices are milk and cheese and the B choices well there are loads of them. The password for the members site at the mo is lunchbox they may be listed there. ;)

Ok have had a look don't seem to be, you can probably buy the food optimising book on ebay.

veggie 07-11-2004 02:01 PM

Wow just seen a food optimising book on ebay for £16  doesn't cost that much to go one week and join up to get one. Also cheaper ones though (£1 or £2 with two days to go).

Superwitch 07-11-2004 02:49 PM

The prices people are paying for those books is crazy. I have seen them go for £37 on there. It is true that it is cheaper to go to just one meeting and get the book given to you. It isn't like Weight Watchers where they give you a different book every week. I couldn't live without my Food Directory although I have started looking quite a few things up on the net as well.

The Slimming World Magazine is another fantastic thing. You can also order all kinds of recipe books from the magazine.

Superwitch 07-11-2004 02:53 PM

Have been pretty good again today. Weigh in tomorrow and will be a little put out if I have stayed the same again as I really have been good this week. I have been drinking Hi-lights to help with the chocolate cravings. I have eaten scan bran as healthy extras 2 days. I have stuck to my diet even when at the cinema or on a picnic. I have been to the pub and drank only soft drinks. I couldn't have been more angelic if I had tried.

My only downfall this week is that I haven't been to the gym or swimming as the opportunity hasn't been there. Will make more of an effort to go this week.

Slimming World

Hi,

Does anyone have the password for this week for the slimming world site? It is no longer "lunchbox"...

Hugmequick how are you doing on your macaroni cheese...which makes do you have? I find tesco the best, and HP is sickly...

Also how many tins do you have in a day? lol.

Speak l8tr

Gareth

hugmequick 07-12-2004 07:13 AM

aww and i wanted to have a look on the site. i haven't had the chance. oh ha ha. if im lucky i have one! Not been good really and i dont know why. I'm back up 2 pounds to 14st and apart from my chocolate block a couple of days back i haven't been bad at all. :?: :(
I've been exercising on my eliptical runner i have been eating fine and what do i get in return....2 pounds in return!
started today with a chicken omelette which was very yummy, lunch I am about to have soon but will have to look in the freezer. and dinner is sausage, egg, mushroom and turkey rasher. which i am looking forward to i must say.

has anyone else had bad weeks where they are doing everything but still seem to put weight back on??

slimming world

Hiya Lauren,

I have just had a small piece of choc birthday cake my sisters. I thought I will be okay because I have figured it out....I feel like I am putting weight on when I eat Macaroni cheese and drink diet coke...' I most probably do, but I noticed that the next day when I come off macaroni I feel thinner.

Work this out - I weighed a week ago and was 15st 1lb. I got weighed at my doctors on the thursday which is what 2 days after weighing on my sister's scales...at the docs I was 14st..4lb...I get weighed at my sisters just now and I am 14st 12lb...what is happening...have I lost or gained...it seems have lost is it 3lb...so if I was to weigh at my doctors then would this mean I am 14st 1lb...lol?

But yeh I do notice that it seems to slow down if we just eat macaroni but it is so addictive...I also note that I did not drink enough water when I feel fatter...I read that some people put weight on...but if you have lost then the pattern of loss must continue it halts when you come off it and go on again because you are mixing food which turns to fat in the body like meat and pasta or meat and potato together...

Let me know how you go on...I also note that it is not half a pint of semi skimmed milk but less as it is skimmed that is 1/2 pint allowance.

Best wishes

Gareth

veggie 07-12-2004 12:33 PM

Passwords lemonade then skipping.

Lauren loads of people have weeks where they do the same but the results are different don't worry. It is best to view your weigh loss as a monthly loss as some weeks you will gain for no reason.

Gareth weigh yourself once a week or month at the same day and time your weight does go up and down daily.

:) We can do this! :p

Superwitch 07-12-2004 02:46 PM

Last week I was pretty good and stayed the same. This week I have been angelic but only lost 1lb.

I am hoping that if I am really good next week thgen my body will catch up with my good eating habits - lol.

I am definitely going to try even harder this week and have less green days as I think I am ODing on Pasta and Sauce - lol.

cat90 07-13-2004 04:07 PM

Gareth, Only get weighed on one scale :) use the same one every time or it will drive you   I have 3 and don't weigh the same on any of them  it sounds like your sisters scale is not accurate :dunno: i'm sure the one at the doc's will be more accurate than that one. You could try weighing a 20lb bag of spuds on it or something to test it ;)

Superwitch 07-13-2004 06:59 PM

that is a good idea about the potatoes. I am naughty and do have sneeky weigh ins at home on my digital scales as well as Slimming World. I don't think my scales are accurate though from one day to the next even though they are digital.

drumajo 07-14-2004 07:47 PM

My scales at home always give me a reading of 2 lb lighter than at class, so should I wish to weigh myself midweek at home, I just add on 2 lb's to what the class scales would be.

Ella77 07-26-2004 08:42 AM

Wish I could stop yoyoing on and off SW. Just did my first week (again), but unfortunately had lots to drink over the weekend. Meant I didn't lose weight (guess the good news is that I didn't put on either!) so am feeling a bit uninspired. I am determined to lose at least 7lb by September.

Does anyone know any good chicken curry recipes? My husband and I both love spicy food, and I'd like to be able to prepare some tasty home-made ones instead of relying on Sharwoords sauces, and using up valuable syns in the process.

Have checked this site regularly but it seems like it people post in cycles, and this is a quite cycle. Summer holidays might have something to do with it I guess. Thought I would try and get it going again anyhow.

veggie 07-26-2004 10:56 AM

Hi Ella  yes it is very quiet at the mo. Holidays and stuff I guess. There is a chicken curry recipe here.

Superwitch 07-26-2004 03:35 PM

Ella, have you got the "50 best slimming world recipes" booklet that they give you free when you join? It has a great Chicken Tikka Masala recipe in it that is free from syns on a red day. If you make it with quorn it is free on either day which means you can have it with loads of rice.

hugmequick 07-26-2004 06:06 PM

hey. the password will of changed won't it for the site?

veggie 07-26-2004 07:38 PM

Yeah changes every fortnight. I haven't got it handy at the mo.

veggie 07-26-2004 07:42 PM

Ok 'toast' at the mo. :)

Ella77 07-27-2004 03:50 AM

Thanks for the recipes Veggie, I think they will come in very handy! No I didn't get the booklet as I haven't formally joined. My friend has taught me all I know about SW, as well as this forum!

Today was my real weigh day, and I appear to have lost 1.2 lb overnight, so much happier today. :)

Have a good one everybody, I think it's going to be nce and warm this week!

Angiexx 07-31-2004 07:38 AM

hi,
does ANYBODY know the slimming world passwor for this week im really struggling
thanks :dizzy:

Superwitch 08-02-2004 06:12 PM

Positive

cat90 08-03-2004 08:03 AM

So they have a Syn Calculator now? Is it like the Weightwatchers one? you slide an arrow down to the cal and fat gram count and it tells you how many pts are in a food.

Kelly M 08-03-2004 08:15 AM

The syn calculator is an online tool on the Slimming World website "Lifeline Online" for members - and basically if you can't find the syn value of something - then you can punch in the details of the product such as fat, calories etc depending on which day you are on - and then it give you the syn value.

Technology eh! :)

kermac 08-03-2004 09:17 AM

Hi there.

I am 22 just married and have put on a lot of weight due to various problems with my health (crohn's disease) and medication to treat it. I have just done my first week at sw and I get weighed tonight. I'm really nervous. I can't quite get my head round how much I've eaten and it's supposed to help me lose weight. I just stick to green days as I feel the pasta, rice and potatoes fill me up and give me more energy.

I am so impressed by everyone's determination. I am going along with my sister in law and she is just as nervous as I am.

Kelly M 08-03-2004 09:27 AM

Hi Kermac!

Hey don't be worried chick! I remember being nervous at my first class but I soon learnt how friendly people are - and how much people want to see YOU lose weight as much as they want to lose it themselves :)

It's a good atmosphere - and everyone is there for the same reason so know one can judge anyone else! :)

The amount of people I have heard say they are shocked at how much they have eaten and lost weight - is fenomenal!

With Slimming World you have to just go with it and put all past diet conceptions on hold.

I really hope that you have a nice weight loss tonite. But just so you know - in my first week I only lost 1lb and in my 2nd I lost none - but I stuck with it and have currently lost 3 stone 5lbs. It does work - believe me - you just have to keep going :)

Kelly

You'll be fine. I was SOOOO nervous as I am v shy. Good luck. :D

Ella77 08-03-2004 11:59 AM

I'm sure you'll have lost weight Kermac. I've lost 1lb two weeks in a row, and haven't even been following it fully!
Have fun with the plan. I'm looking forward to going home and opening my parcel full of SW books and the food directory. Been driving hubby mad talking about it non-stop.

Btw, made the ice-cream recipe on the weekend and ended up scoffing the entire bowl! Was too full for dinner :D

kermac 08-04-2004 08:32 AM

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the support. I weighed in last night and I lost 2 lbs so I'm glad it was off rather than on. Although it doesn't seem like a dent in the 5 stone I have to lose.

Our class leader is very good and is giving me the encouragment I need. Put in a food dairy and I think I got a bit mixed up with things but it's all been explained to me now.

Hope you all have a good week this week. Nice to chat to people that want the same thing.

Thanx. Kers. xx

Kelly M 08-04-2004 09:19 AM

Well done Kermac!

Keep with it! I have loads to lose too - but - I am finding the journey down the pounds is nice :) You don't have to be at target to start feeling great and proud of yourself.

Ella77 08-04-2004 10:34 AM

:cp: Congratulations on your loss Kermac! It is worth the effort when you see the scales going down every week. And at this rate you'll have lost a stone in seven, if not less.

I would advise buying the food directory. I got mine yesterday, and don't know how I did without it. And the free branded foods book is brill too.

Superwitch 08-04-2004 12:38 PM

Muller Light Ice Lollies

Has anyone tried making these? I have heard that you can either put Muller Light in moulds or just stick lolly sticks straight into a pot of yoghurt. I have bought the multi pack which are smaller yoghurts and hope to make these this week.

cat90 08-04-2004 02:35 PM

 I know what you're talking about now Kelly :dizzy: I was thinking it was a portable thing that you could carry in your bag  Well Done with the weightloss btw.

Ella77 08-05-2004 07:26 AM

Haven't tried the ice lollies, although I can vouch for the ice-cream! That's another idea to try this weekend. I can guess the vanilla flavour would taste like a Mini-Milk. Mmm :T

Kelly M 08-06-2004 04:09 AM

i wonder if you can freeze the Sveltese Lemon Cheesecake yoghurts?! :T

I am obsessed!

cat90 08-06-2004 12:05 PM

Just try it ;) probably will work well :T
