Thanks bakewell, makes me feel better knowing i'm not the only one who feels like that! So happy for you that your back on track!
Down another pound to 155 but I found out yesterday i have to have my gallbladder removed so i'm now fretting about that. I've never has any surgery before so i'm not sure what to expect. :/ Just hoping it won't hinder my weight loss. I also made the bold move of buying a wedding dress in a size 12, (my fella and i are planning on having a small wedding at some point this summer) which nowhere near fits me at the moment. I'm going to need to loose about a stone to fit in it i think. Anyone know the weight for a dress size 12 UK for someone who's 5'4? xx |

I think that is a bit of a how long is a piece of string question, as everyone is so different, but that being said, if relatively average build my guess would be somewhere between 91/2 and 10 st for it to fit really well. Also re surgery, don't worry about the weightloss aspect, it will only affect you in this instance if you allow yourself to use it as an excuse to eat, hope that doesn't sound harsh but you know what I mean...it's all about being in control! |
My mum has had her gall bladder taken out. I don't live very near her so I don't know how she was, but there certainly didn't seem to be any problems. You'll have to make sure you give yourself plenty time to rest after it though - no running around like a mad hatter after your wee one! :) I'm not sure about the weight of a size 12 would be - I think when I was last that size I was....13? I'm sure you'll get into it though! You'll have to! :D Anyway, congratulations! And well done for saying farewell to cake!
Hi Bakewell! I put on over Christmas too :( I'm just back to where I started, and am thoroughly fed up with being stuck around 15 stone! I'll be so happy when I get closer to 14 1/2.... Anyway, great to have you back :) Well done for making it to the gym Kay! :D |
That didn't sound harsh ellie, thankyou it's just what i need! there's no point feeling sorry for myself and eating like an idiot just because i'll be on bed rest. I think it's really helped buying this dress because it gives me a great goal so i definitely won't be slacking with my diet! About 9 & half to 10 stone was what i thought also.. so i'll have to get cracking!
I hope your mum recovered well beescwee. It's going to be really hard to be on bed rest afterwards but luckily my fella and mum have both took time of work to look after me and my daughter (she starting walking a few weeks ago so she's hyper atm!) & Snap I was also around a size 12 around the age of 12 too, probably why i can't remember how much i weighed! |
Aye, she's fine - sure you will be too! It's great that you're going to have someone to look after both of you.
The weight thing is so depressing isn't it. At that age being a size 12 still isn't great, cause everyone else your age is a size 6-8! I've always felt like an overgrown monster! I just wish that I'd lost weight a lot sooner than now. I suppose at least I've started. I'm NEVER going to look like this again. Anyway, this week I'm down from 212 to 208, so I'm pretty happy with that. 3lbs to go if I want to make goal this month! I'd better get to the gym!! |
I'm hoping to weigh in tomorrow... last night I went out "up the town" to celebrate my friend going to Australia which was not a pretty sight. Needless to say, I was at work today at 12pm with a monster hangover, and feeling like a huge bloated mess... I'm going to behave from now on!
New motivation: I bought and fitted into (just) size 16 jeans! :D Feels good to get out of the 18s. PS. Have also taken on a full-blown Glee addiction... Asda FM play it so I get to hear songs from Glee allll day! :D |
Hi All,
Hope you're all in fighting form this week. January is a very depressing months, so things can only get better for us all. And, big thing, we are all here, so that's a really good thing, we could be off eating fry ups and gaining all over again!!! I am down 1lb to 172 this week, not delighted wasn't hugely well behaved yesterday and Sat, so could have been more, but determined to be really good this week, as and from 9 days away I will be changing back to a bit more of normal eating plan, and gradually re-introducing carbs back in to diet...the final frontier.. Best of Luck to all |
I think I've probably gained weight this week, if anything compensating for the week of flu-related non-eating... will weigh in tomorrow, and all will be revealed...
Ellie, you're still losing weight so there is nothing to be down about! January sucks, but February is just around the corner. :) |
Have had a pretty bad week and was expecting a gain and wasn't disappointed, have gained 2lbs making me 256 so a loss of 3lbs for January.
Had my official weigh in at the surgery today - 5lbs lost in 5wks so there well pleased with me :) |
Well done Keira!
I have had a very disappointing January... and it's all my fault, I know. I've weighed in at 198lbs just now, which I am kind of disappointed in. Admittedly, I've only gone to the gym twice since I got back to university, so I should be glad I've made a loss at all. Next month is going to be much better. I NEED to lose this weight if I want to make a positive move in my life after I finish university. So, I'm going to take the fact I'm down to a size 16 top and bottom as a 'win' for January, and be much more focussed for february. I've got to be. Anyway, going to the gym to hopefully will my body into a nice whoosh for the end of January! :D OMG Jenna, 208lbs is ace! You're getting pretty close to Onederland now, too! :D |
