Jumpin' July

The new short challenge - just 5 weeks this time.

28th June - 2nd August.

Start: current: target

Me? I had a shocking last 2 weeks and didn't lose anything (didn't gain a whole pound either).

I'm adding a personal exercise target to so my challenge looks like this:

214: 214: 204

I've changed my mind about the exercise, I'm walking Becksters Running Challenge. Come and join in, I'll change any details over here!

Join in and I'll keep the numbers, internet connection allowing :)

Stef 214: 214: 204 plus London to Brighton and a Cornish holiday to survive

EllieR 219: 219: 209 plus 360 mins (adjusted for road trip http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/mi...t-misc-012.gif)
touchmytoes 141: 141: 130
AngelD 186: 186: 176
Cleophas 250: 250: 240 plus 450 mins - yay!
Rainbow 239: 239: 230
Beckster 159: 159: 152 plus London to Brighton and a real 2 weeks in Italy :D
Starbuck 249: 249: 242 and she's got Florida in sight
Catrocks 140: 140: 130 and a tricky family holiday to negotiate - welcome to the Challenge
slwadsworth 243: 243: 233 and 450 mins (unless you want to join the London to Brighton instead, I'll happily track both) a big welcome to the site :grouphug:

And we are off, hot sticky, humid and icky-sweaty weight loss starts here

Ellie R 06-28-2009 10:04 AM

Hey Stef,

I'm in again. Bring it!

Not going to set my goals to high this time, as in 2 weeks time, I'm goin stateside for a 2 week roadtrip in California, supersize land.

AngelD 06-28-2009 11:55 AM

I missed the last one but will join in this one!

After 6 months of not really trying I've finally gotten my act together and could do with a little challenge to keep me going. I'm going to aim to lose 10 pounds.

SW: 186
CW: 186
GW: 176

I think just doing excercise will be a sucess for me so will hold off on a target for that just now!!

Cleophas 06-28-2009 12:31 PM

Beckster 06-29-2009 05:21 AM

I'm in again...... I will be away in Italy from 16 - 26 July though, so will keep target lower than June challenge.
start - 159
current - 159
goal - 152

Am pledging 7 pounds. As for exercise, i think this is where i can shine......hopefully! :carrot:

have set up a cyber london to brighton run/walk on a different thread - 87km - come join!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE XXX

Starbuck 06-29-2009 05:47 AM

Just booked myself a holiday to Florida in January, so have some serious motivation now to lose the weight.

I'll say 7lbs this time so cw 249 / gw 242

CatRocks 06-29-2009 10:49 AM

Can I join this time? Missed the June one but I really need some motivation so this is ideal!
It looks like this - 140/140/130
Hopefully I'll manage 10 lbs...but I do have a 5 day holiday planned with the family during July, but I promised myself I am going to go to the hotel gym every day!
Good luck girls!
Cat x

how come I can see some ladies losing about 3-4 lbs a week and im stuck on about 1-2....ive been going to the gym every day since last Thursday...which means im burning alot of cals per week...but still im not seeing massive results... do you think its because of my metabolism?

I don't know about the others but mine is due to only being on plan for two weeks so isn't real every week kind of weight loss. For someone of your weight 1-2lbs is really great and there is absolutly nothing wrong with your metabolism. Once I get well into losing weight I tend to slow down to that rate as well or worse - 5 weeks straight of losing 0.5 at WW drove me mad!!!

I think at your weight you are going well to be losing 1-2lb still! Weight loss is slower the lighter you are.

I have been losing 2lb most weeks and I'm much heavier than you. Some weeks I do lose more but normally it's because I've lost less the weeks before and so was probably lossing water as well when I lost more.

You need to look at the results over a long period of time and not worry too much about comparing yourself to others. 1-2lb per week is fairly fast weight loss - that's 8-16lb in 2 months :)

Hey Touchmytoes,
agree with the above 2, at your weight - or at any weight really that is a healthy sustainable weightloss...In my case am on horrendously limiting diet, (ketogenic Very Low Calorei Diet) under medical supervision, so that's why I am losing that amount!

Beckster 07-04-2009 02:56 PM

hello

sw: 159
cw: 158 :carrot:
gw: 152

Am pleased with one pound - very pleased!

Rainbow 07-04-2009 05:29 PM

Starting weight: 239
Current weight: 236

so 3lb lost this week :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Starbuck 07-05-2009 03:22 AM

Starting weight: 249
Current weight: 250

In my defence it was my birthday yesterday and I ate loads and loads, and a huge steak last night so I'm confident I can lose it next week.

Starbuck 07-05-2009 07:21 AM

Thanks Ellie that's lovely

AngelD 07-05-2009 07:28 AM

Happy Birthday Starbuck!! I always say that my birthday and christmas day are non-diet days.

Cleophas 07-05-2009 01:49 PM

Blarg! After a week of being sick as a dog and eating junk food like it was the only thing that mattered I lost 0.6 of a pounds and did no exercise. This week is going to be better. So current 249.4

slwadsworth 07-06-2009 09:03 AM

Hi Stef, I am in the July Exercise challenge too and they track my exercise but I think you are part of that too - but i could be wrong still finding my bearings with the site :0)

SW: 245
CW: 241
GW: 233

Had to get weighed in a day earlier but back to normal this week - hopefully can concentrate on losing weight rather than working!! Its so hard working 2 jobs sometimes I only have 45 minutes at home before i'm out again!! Any ideas of healthy teas? My husband isn't a brilliant cook (although willing to try!)

Thanks
Sarah

touchmytoes 07-07-2009 04:46 PM

hiya, weigh in day not til tomorrow but wondered something,
im cutting out alot carbs ..trying to stick to the under 20g but with that comes low fat and low cals too im talking about less than 1100 cals a day with exercise on top im not having much.
BUT...my question is...im not holding back as in not allowing myself stuff im still having a couple of cups of tea,a few glasses of wine on the weekend some choc..etc...all in very small treat size amounts still keeping carbs and cals low...but im finding that although my cals and fat etc are low, im not hungry....should i be considering that its so low? im worried im gonna hurt myself but im simply not hungry once ive had my breakfast lunch and tea...

touchmytoes 07-08-2009 02:44 PM

weigh in ...9 stone 13 lbs

139 lbs
:)

Cleophas 07-11-2009 08:10 AM

I gained the half pound I lost last week, but at least I know why, we've been having celebrations in the department as we're winding down for the school year and I've had some cake, plus ToM is kicking my weight loss this week. I think if I carry on with this harder next week then I should see some results. So:

CW: 250
Excercise time: 180 minutes

AngelD 07-11-2009 08:25 AM

Weighed in a day late as I forgot yesterday!

SW: 186
CW: 181
GW: 176

I've magically managed to lose 2 pounds this week despite going out for a friends birthday meal mid week. At least being boring and having the salad and no alcohol was worth it!

Rainbow 07-11-2009 03:00 PM

stayed the same :(

Was our wedding anniversary and we went to pizza hut though (but didn't over do it), and have been ill ever since and eaten far too much chocolate for energy (though not a lot of anything else), haven't been drinking much water and haven't been able to eat breakfast of or exercise so maybe that's why. Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow and this will be a good week weight loss wise.

Ellie R 07-12-2009 02:22 AM

SW: 219
CW: 213
GW:209

Loss This Week: 2.5lb

Excercise 120 mins

Am off on my road trip tomorrow, so will check in when I get back...am hoping desperately to maintain, but I won't be surprised at a little gain, and am gonna do my best!!

PS Stef, hope all ok with you, you've gone off the radar a bit???? hope it its just internet problems again?

Ellie R 07-12-2009 02:28 AM

Hi Touchmytoes,
I think if you aren't hungry with it, then it is a good thing...you may in fact be going in to ketosis, if your carbs are really low, and this does suppress your appetite!

I don't think that if you are taking in 1'100 calories that you are in any danger of doing damage!

touchmytoes 07-14-2009 12:35 PM

have been doing about 12-16 k a day on the bike in the gym, but although im seeing my size slim down im not seeing the old bum firm up..anyone got any good ideas to firm up the bum? 15-20 running? half our on the cross trainer?

Nicki54 07-14-2009 06:01 PM

Too late to join in but that's no reason not to :cheer2: you all on. If there's another similar challenge after this one could I join in please.

Nicki

Rainbow 07-15-2009 05:03 AM

scales still aren't moving :( Sure I won't make my goal this time....still not well and feel dizzy so can't exercise.

Nicki54 07-15-2009 05:32 AM

:hug:Hope you feel better soon.

Nicki

Rainbow 07-15-2009 06:13 AM

Thanks Nicci - really need to lose a few more lb before going on holiday so really need to be able to exercise again. Am just under 17 stones and don't want to come back over 17 stones!

touchmytoes 07-16-2009 02:54 PM

aaw bum no movement this week

Rainbow 07-17-2009 10:20 AM

5lb lost :carrot::D:dizzy::spin::coffee::angel::fr::dancer: :flow2::rain::goodscale:coolsnow:

Means I probably did lose last week and water weight was hiding it :)

AngelD 07-17-2009 07:04 PM

Well done Rainbow! That's a fantastic loss!

I didn't lose anything but I've lost 8 pounds in the last month so was expecting it to slow down sometime soon.
