Default Any one else read The Amazing Adventures of Diet Girl?

Hi all. Have just finished reading a great book "The Amazing adventures of Diet Girl". Has any one else read it? Was the funniest, sadest, inspiring, scary, wackiest thing I have read in a long time. Shauna Reid on her amazing weight loss journey. For anyone finding it hard going pick up a copy and read her story. Amazing!

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to look on amazon as well.

Another book I like is Jemima J by Jane Green (fiction). I usually read it before I 'get back on it!'

Hi there Louise and Tracey J

The book is so heart warming. When you have read it let me know what you think. A couple of stick out points in my mind:

She is in the back garden with her mother and there is laundry on the line. She is relaxing taking it easy. She asks her mother if she could remove the washing as it is blocking the sun. "Mother If I wore knickers as large as those I would definately not hang them on the line. Take them in!"
Mother replies: "They are not mine! They are yours!"

She quickly removes said garments and puts them up against her mothers underwarear to be horrified at the fact that she wears bigger knickers than her mother!

Also the bit where she secretly stashes chocolate bars in the bottom of her wardrobe in her bedroom! The calories that you get from eating in your wardrobe where no one can see do not count!

Very sad when you think of the serious ness of it but also hilarious when you can relate to some of the things that she says. It is well worth a read!

Hope you enjoy

Have a nice weekend

Madcow

I took a look on her website and I've ordered the book on amazon following your recommendation.

I will have to wrap it in brown paper as my Boyf will say 'not another 'diet' book' lol!

I'll let you know how I get on, but I won't start reading it in earnest until my coursework deadlines are up 2nd Sept!

If you cannot order the book, read her blog. I know it cannot replace the book, but hey, at least you still find inspirations in it Her blog has entries from 2001 till August 2008. ^^
