Yes I thought fat club as well I'm not into public humiliation I've had emails about tv shows before for living I quite like the diet stuff I've seen on living but I'm not brave.

Sarah Ann 04-19-2002 09:22 AM

Yes... same thing for me... I would love the makeover, but couldn't stand the public humiliation - anyway I have destroyed all the 'before' pictures and there wouldn't be any point in doing an 'after' if I couldn't prove the 'before'!

private & confidential lol

Hmm...am on doctors orders to drink soft drinks will start sunday I always feel worse after seeing doctor I always want to cry god I thought I was ok I survived an interview with no nerves at all yesterday but the docs is worse :(

Smiling Sal 04-19-2002 05:12 PM

Awwww Veggie. Don't dispair there are worse things than having to drink soft drinks. I used to live on diest pepsi then I moved on to water and now I seem to be on the diluting blackcurrent juice. There are thousands of drinks out there for you to experiment with, treat it like a big challenge and have fun testing all the different kinds.

I know what you all mean when you say I need to make time for myself. This week has been hard but if nothing else it has shown me I need to make time for me. Tonight I set off walk when I got home and Ray and the boys came too so although it was enjoyable it wasn't something just for me. But there is a tank of hot water just waiting to be poured in the bath and a large glass of wine - well within my cal limit today - to keep me company.

I am turning over a new leaf as from today - how many of them have I done recently. Me & Ray had a long chat as this week we've just bumped along making no time for each other and not really talking. So we are going to change all that and get back to 'normal' hence the bottle of wine - maybe I shouldn't be hiding in the bath with my glass though - need to rethink that plan. Hopefully we can find a decent film on the telly, if not he'll watch some sci fi futureistic rubbish (my opinion and I'm entitled to it ) and then I can sneak of for my bath. he's tiding the kitchen at the moment - you are all right I have got a good one, and I don't tell him that enough.

Can't type anymore fingers are sore. Typed constantly for 4 hours this afternoon and I'm not used to it anymore - off to give him a quick hug as he tidies up

Sarah Ann 04-20-2002 02:20 AM

Carol, why not share the wine AND the bath....!

Veggie.... poor you! I know that feeling that a trip to the doctor's gives - I still get it to an extent and it really is the fault of your doctor not you that you should feel like that after visiting him. Well, I think so!! He's supposed to be there to help you, not make you feel worse.

As for the alcohol - just think a) how much richer you'll be, b) how much thinner you'll be and c) how much quicker you will get to feel better. It took me about two weeks to get over the craving for an alcoholic drink or four each evening but, like Carol says, there are thousands of non-alcoholic drinks out there for you to try.

Wine and a bath sounds good for tonight. I have my nephew staying over so thats 3 boys aged, 7, 5 and 4. Enough to give me gray hair. You would think they would at least be tired by this time, but no chance.

Talking of gray hair, found another 2 in my fringe this morning. Thats about 6 in the last few weeks more than doubles my previous total. Am getting a bit woried that I'll need to start looking at the hair dyes in Boots. Ray has had a salt and pepper colouring for more years than he cares to remember and tells me 'it's gray hair or nay hair' not sure thats a comfort.

Am away to commit murder in Seans room. Not sure what is going on but it sounds like they are killing each other. Ray has ran off to his dads typical man !!

There might a glass of wine left in the bottle from last night to dull my senses - failing that it's the blackcurrent juice for me. Might go and sit in the garden - I know it's dark and no doubt raining but at least it would be peaceful

If I still have my sanity tomorrow I'll speak to you all then

veggie 04-20-2002 05:13 PM

Oh I have grey hair too just the downside of having gorgeous dark brown hair

Sarah Ann 04-21-2002 03:40 AM

I don't know what's going on under all this bleach - probably loads of it by now!!!

Smiling Sal 04-21-2002 05:51 AM

Didn't look for any gray this morning, just brushed it and tied back. Too dangerous to spend too much time analysing it.

Got a nasty surprise yesterday. Rays sisters boy stayed last night as it is her birthday and they were going out. We were chatting and I said that she was really getting old now she was 25, she just laughed and said she was actually 26. Big home truth moment, means I'll be 36 in a few weeks - funny how you can lose count along the way. :p

Am going to go and plan my meals for the week. It is a long time since I have done this - like about 7 years ago when I lost a lot of weight last time. It worked for me then so my theory is it is going to work for me this time. Just need to plan my time so that I can manage to do it.

I really fancy doing some baking as well - haven't done any in a really long time. I don't even know if I have any ingredients I could use. Fancy making banana muffins, but I have no bananas so that could be difficult.

Sarah Ann 04-21-2002 06:15 AM

Don't worry about getting older... they say life begins at 40 and it certainly did for me!

Yes - I plan my meals for the week (have done since I started this diet) and it really works for me, too! I am experimenting with doing it sort of monthly at the moment - so that I only get to do a huge shop once a month to fill the freezer and then Kevin does the weekly shop to get veg/bread/milk - the basic idea is that if we don't buy it, I can't eat it!

Hi girls, hope your weekend has been a good one. Mine seems to have been constanly doing laundry and hoovering and cleaning, even had to break out the polish cos brathing was becoming a problem with all the dust....not good when there are two asthmatics living with me :o
Well last week we had weather in the nineties and now today we went plumeting down to sixty and I just got back from walking the dogs and it's forty....Brrrr...chilly out!
I have some sort of music awards on the telly and Gloria Gaynor has just swanned out in gold lame caftan and belted out 'I will Survive' I know all the words ya know :) Shows the age I suppose. She doesn't have any gray hairs and doesn't look any different to when she was on TOTP's years back....I have gray hair but cover it carefully with a multitude of colours....
Right, I'm off to make a cuppa and read some more bits here, my cable was out earlier today so this is the first chance I've had to get to read this weekend.
Talk soon.
Chris :)

Sarah Ann 04-22-2002 01:40 AM

CHRIS!! Maybe Gloria's covering all her grey hairs with a multitude of colours as well.....

:( I always knew my daughter would get her comeuppance with food.... she's one of these people who are what I call 'self correcting' with her weight. She can eat a lot, put on a few pounds and somehow it sort of auto corrects and disappears within a couple of weeks - and it has always been totally frustrating for me! This time.... she has broken her arm over a pizza! :dizzy:

She was with a group of her friends and they had phoned out for pizzas - and they had put the pizzas on the floor (in their boxes) and she leaned over to get a slice, slid, put out her left arm to save herself and fell against the coffee table and SNAP - she broke it! (I think she had had a few glasses of wine though). :dizzy: It could only happen to her.... I swear she has got something wrong with her bones, this is the third time she has broken that arm.

Smiling Sal 04-22-2002 12:25 PM

Your poor daughter Sarah –I have only every broken a bone in my foot – just like Beckham, only when I did it they didn’t put in the papers. Sure you are giving her lots of tea and sympathy. Another busy day, but a good eating one so far. Only have the evening to go and so far so good.

Been working in Glasgow again today but had to come back to my own office to collect a laptop as the guys are having no end of bother with 2000 drivers on mine. Does mean though that I get to skive away the last hour catching up with everybody.

I want to go raid the chocolate machine, but am restraining myself. I’ve had a cup of tea and now I’m about to eat the banana and satsuma I have in my bag - much better for me.

BritinNJ 04-22-2002 09:20 PM

ooooooooooooouch Sarah, hope you're daughter isn't in too much pain. I have only ever broken one bone in my life, my collar bone in a car accident and it did hurt...mind you I am a big lala :o
Will she have to be in plaster cast for six weeks? I think getting a broken bone would put me right offf of pizza to be quite honest although I've not eaten it myself in a while, too many points for too little food for my liking...LOL!

Carol, well done luv for staying on track with the banana and satsuma :)

Everyone else have a great day tomorrow.

Chris x

Sarah Ann 04-23-2002 02:07 AM

She phoned last night to say she has been re-Xrayed and it is a clean break unlike her last two which were fractures. She has now got her proper caste on and is stuck with it for at least four weeks. The doctor at the hospital is referring her on to a specialist, he said he thinks she might have a problem with her bones because they break so easily.

Kids.... No matter how old they get they are STILL a worry!!!!

Well done for sticking with that banana and satsuma, Carol - A CHOCOLATE MACHINE - that is SO not fair! Do you think that, under current personal injury legisation, you might have a claim against your employer for your weight problem??? LOL! After all - you can claim against your employer if you hurt yourself using a piece of office equipment...... Oh well, just a thought!
