  • Quote: I spend all day watching dvds and on my computer, I have no motivation to go to the gym mainly cos I dont want to go out into the torrential rain ans its just so boring and I snack a lot.
To help me stay motivated I keep a picture of my old self on the fridge............there's nothing more motivating than that, believe me.

If I absolutely have to snack I make it a healthy one. Eating packets of biscuits and no exercise is a recipe for disaster.
  • Check out you tube there are a few workouts on there.
  • Quote: I have exactly the same problem. I can generally find things to do to keep my food obsessed mind out of the fridge but 7pm hits, I have no money to go out and do something. So the inevitable happens and I start picking just for something to do. Does anyone have any tips and tricks? xx
Now don't laugh but have you thought about knitting or sewing
  • Quote: Now don't laugh but have you thought about knitting or sewing
Its funny you should mention this, because I've been thinking I need something to do with my hands while I'm relaxing in an evening that will keep my hands wandering into the kitchen. I can't actually knit though, although I reeeaaallly want to learn. And I'mnot too great at sewing. Can anyone think of other crafts like this?

To be honest I'm not too bad at wandering into the kitchen but it annoys me that I think its just pure laziness thats stopping me. I'll have cravings but the only thing stopping me raiding the cupboards for a biscuit or whatever is the fact that I can't get my lazy bum off the sofa.
  • Go on, you know you want to
You can buy magazines showing you how to from scratch

Have you thought of crafting, maybe making your own cards for christmas, birthdays etc.,
create and craft on tv (sorry unable to post links)

Crocheting, embroidery, rug making (you can get them in kits), hand-sewing a patchwork quilt/throw with bits of spare material from friends, family etc.,

If you want to give simple sewing a go, try some easy cross stitch samplers, my parents bought me one from their holiday in Williamsburg. I really enjoyed doing it and i am now working on another one they bought me and one i designed myself as a present for my dad when he gets out of hospital. Not sure they stopped me snacking but they are nice to do and you can frame them and put them on the wall when they are done.
