Default Paul McKenna - The 2007 thread

I've been looking through different older threads regarding PMK. So here is a new one....

I did get the book last year and read it, but never looked at it further. Picked it up again last night and read half way through it (tonite I'll read the other half) and I think I will give it a try. I've been doing slimming world for the last year and am having difficulties at the moment with motivation.

So here is my question....has anyone tried it successfully? Are maybe even the people that opened the old threads still here and can give advise? All help is welcome!

The book makes sense, just gotta try if it works for me I guess, but I would be grateful for some feedback from you guys......

Yes I used it - in conjunction with loads of other stuff - and found it most useful for motivation, so it may work well for you. I hope it does! Especially the motivation to exercise (I still needed to scrape up every inch of my non existent willpower when it came to food!) But in terms of just getting motivated to get off my backside and take up running and do exercise DVDs... it was great.

Finished the book last night and listened to the CD....does it work? I don't know yet. I tried the craving buster to with a Big Mac....when I think about McD's now I don't crave it anymore, even better I feel a little sick thinking of it. I'm eating more concious today, listening to my inner me. Going to see if the gym around my house does month to month subscription....Don't want the 6 month contract thingy.....will keep you posted.

My sis used Paul Mckenna's Cd and book and lost 28 pounds in three months but I tried and it didn't work for me (but then I didn't listen to it everyday as suggested) so I guess it's a case of finding what works for you.

However I did feel energetic and positive when I finished listen to the CD so I would have to give it a thumbs up for that.

Good luck X x

Wow, if I could loose that, I'll dance around the PMK Book lol.

Anyhow, a wee update. Been to the gym and will sign up tomorrow again, really have the urge to go back. Weekend went well. Had a chinky on Friday night, and stopped eating when I was full. Saturday we went to the MOT and when stopping at the Black Bean Cafe, instead of taking a pastry I chose the healthier chicken jalapeno wrap. Went to town and had a couple of drinks and then went to Di Maggios where we shared a starter and eventho I ordered a main course, I only ate 1/4 of it...which is unheard of!!!!! Took the rest home and had it for lunch yesterday. Went to the movies last night and have to admit that I had popcorn...

But well, I'm in high spirits, listen to the CD daily and feel really good about it. Shopping was fun yesterday, cause I picked what I wanted, and funny enough I picked healthy stuff. Yay me!....Got a salad for lunch and 3 slices of brown bread with smoked ham.....and I'm looking forward to it!

Sounds like the CD is starting to kick in if you're going off eating full meals...good luck with it. X

Thanks Boo....wee question...did your sister stay on the diet after the 3 months or did she reach her goal?

Had a good day again yesterday....didn't eat too much, took me nearly an hour to eat my salad and my sandwich....felt full all day, didn't even have my 4pm urge that I usually have (the hour that I'm home alone before Mr. B's home). Had the Uncle Bens Hoisin Wraps for dinner, which I enjoyed a lot.

It's funny, usually my bag that I bring for lunch is full, but the last couple of days it's a lot lighter and emptier lol.

You're welcome.

After losing 28 lbs she was at her goal and then she just used the CD about once a week for a "top up", that way she never quite got the old appetite back of wanting to devour everything. However she says it's still something she has to work at daily, chewing her food well, stopping as soon as she feels full, drinking lots of water and exercising etc but she has never put the weight back on, she actually lost a further ten pounds and her weight settled at 9st 1 and has done for the last few years.

Hope that helped.

Keep up the good work

Boo x

Oh wow, I wish I was at that point, but alas......but hey, I will get there at some point. Right now I'm feeling quiet good about myself.

Went to the gym last night, unfortunately we have to wait until our induction on Thursday to use the machines (like we never used gym equipment before), but went to a spinning class.......felt fab afterwards, only my bottom bones hurt today....funny thing, I didn't know that I still had them under all that fat lol....

I'm still bad about eating slowly - although I haven't listened to the CD for ages now! But I'd never be able to do that (cept with salads) as I HATE cold food - I mean, I hate things that are cooked and meant to be hot, being cold. Or even lukewarm.

I'm OK with the rest of it, though. But for me the CDs worked the most for motivating me to exercise. Just found myself wanting to go out walking/running all the time!

Phoenix I know what you mean about the exercise...I've been having so much engergy lately....I even went to the gym by myself tonight to Body Balance.....afterwards I still had energy...all very strange lol.

Doing good on the food side of things, however caught myself during dinner yesterday, when mindlessly shoveling it in.......

Still haven't had a craving for McD's yet....also very very odd......but hey, YAY!

LOL Moonchild! Sounds like you're doing great and Paul McK is working for you!

Now you've inspired me to dig out my CD and get back into it!

I like that sense of relaxation you get after listening to the Cd, I think it's perfect if your feeling stressed out and want to chill.

Well, I did it....I stood on the scales on saturday.....and lost 4lb! Yay, it's great! Well pleased about that. Had a good weekend, had a few treats but didn't overeat......it really seems to work! But I will give it another couple of weeks and see if I keep going down.....
