I'm in the midlands. The Atkins diet is not all that easy to stick to but its getting better now more low carb products are on the market. it does really work if you can stick to it properly.

I've read that doctors don't reccommend stickign to Aitkens for very long. I think the limit was somethign like 2 weeks - a very short time period. My sister in law lost a lot of weight on it, but can't keep it off, cos when she eats normal food, well carbs, she just puts the weight straight on.

Personally I couldn't be bothered with checking my whate ver levels every morning and my SIL thought it worked out expensive as well, as all she ate was pre-cooked chicken.

Now I've totally slated the Atkins plan, bear in mind this is just my very limited experience with it. If it works for you Lismore then stick with it, I'm doing WW and a lot of people can't stick that.

Hi Lizmore, welcome to the mad house! You can read a bit more about us in the 'Hello, I'm....' thread. We also have a weekly weigh in thread where you can post your losses (and gains) if you feel like it. Most of us do - it kind of keeps us on track.

Someone said the other day on a post that the only diet that wasn't represented in UKFat Chicks was Atkins so it will be lovely to hear how you get on with it.

Hi Lizmore and welcome.

I've never heard of the Atkins diet.
