Exercising yesterday and decided to have another go on mini-tramp  only been on the thing a couple of minutes when "CRUNCH" AAAARGH!! it felt like the vertebrae in my lower back had compressed about an inch  I was frozen in pain and hobbled off to plonk myself face down on the bed :faint: thought it was a hospital job for a minute :faint: I managed to get up and have been whincing ever since :( getting old sucks :nono: How are you doing Veggie? |
I forgot to post this  I've been looking a lot at Dr Mehmet Oz and Dr Mike Roizen. They have been featured on tv a lot lately and they were on Oprah the other day but I think it was a repeat, anyway it was interesting and this really lazy woman that used to tie the dustbins to the back of her vehicle and drag it to the curb :lol3: was on and she lost 43lbs. I can't remember how long it took but they basically threw everything out of her kitchen and told her to focus on wholegrains and 'real' food. I found this recipe on their website :T there are some really good recipes on there ;) i'm going to try this one:
Roasted Pears with Raspberry Coulis, Chocolate, and Pistachios 2 servings Daily calories 195.42 Total fat (g) 4.54 Saturated fat (g) 1.3 Healthy fats (g) 2.94 Fiber (g) 5.32 Carbohydrates (g) 29.51 Sugar (g) 17.88 Protein (g) 2.71 Sodium (mg) 5.65 Calcium (mg) 27.29 Magnesium (mg) 26.63 Selenium (mcg) 1 Potassium (mg) 253.81 1 large red pear 1/2 cup white wine (high quality) 6 ounces frozen unsweetened raspberries, thawed, or 1 cup fresh raspberries 1 tablespoon mini semi-sweet chocolate chips 1-1/2 tablespoons coarsely chopped pistachios, toasted Heat oven to 400F. Cut pear in half; remove core with a melon baller or metal measuring teaspoon. Arrange pear halves, cut side down, in a shallow baking dish. Pour wine over pears. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until pears are tender when pierced with the tip of a sharp knife. Meanwhile, puree raspberries in food processor; strain and discard seeds. Transfer roasted pears to serving plates, cut sides up; sprinkle chocolate chips over the pears (the heat of the pears will melt the chips). Combine pureed raspberries and liquid remaining in baking dish in a small saucepan. Cook over high heat until sauce is slightly thickened. Spoon sauce over and around pears; sprinkle with pistachios. Serve warm or at room temperature. |
Hi Cat so while it's cooking can you drink a glass of the high quality wine?
Waste not want not ;) Watch your back doesn't sound too good if you were in that much pain!!! |

Wow Veggie  look at your stats!! 46lbs gone :yikes: Well Done :cp: are you still doing Slimming World? think i'll look at that jigsaw diet and see what that is all about ;) is it prepackaged foods? I was just reading about someones stuff being lost in the post. If its prepackaged its not for me. In agony here and getting no sympathy from 'im indoors  did'nt help that I moved our Maple dining table outside yesterday (for me to refinish) the bugger weighs about 250lbs!! but I was sick of waiting for 'im to help me so of course I did it on my own. Even he could'nt believe it :yikes: suffering big time now so intend to have an easy walk on :tread: then take it easy rest of day :D i'm scared of that bloody tramp now  don't know if i'll ever set foot on it again :lol3: might sell it now  |
I'm back from Italy, having consumed lots and lots of good food and drink.
But the big news is that I bought some shorts from Gap on Saturday - in SIZE 8 :faint: (US 4!!!) I swear that they're not actually that size, but I couldn't believe it when I tried them on and they actually fit. I don't think it will ever happen again mind you! |
:cp: Well done miss skinny! :D :bravo:
I read your blog, all that food sounds wonderful. Dribble! And not at all too unhealthy. I find Gap sizes are skimped, so you must really be a size 6!!!! :faint: ;) Look after your back cat - you've only got one! |
Wow it's the last day of the month!!Yeah my boo is coming back in like one week hopefully. I miss him sooo much, havent been on the scale but ive been waking up feeling lighter. I really wanna throw the scales out doh. Not getting on there till Monday.
YP1- that is fantastic size 8 you go girl!! cat90-your must be eating some right stuff der for you to be moving dem tables and stuff. |
I'm back from a week in the sun, perfect weather, great beaches, I'm all tan!!!
Best news is I didn't gain any weight, not quite sure how that happened but I'll take it. I feel like I ate a lot, but I also walked a ton, probably 15 miles a day. Walking in those little towns you don't really feel like you're exercising but I guess you are. I only ran once, and was planning on running later today but I'm exhausted so I think I'll get back at it tomorrow. Only 2 more days and I'm back to school :( Not ready for those students just yet. |
Well Done redsoxgirl :)
Slimming, I won't be moving that damn table again  I've been a real couch potato last few days  feeling sorry for myself and my poor old back  its a bank holiday today if it stays dry and it looks a bit iffy we're going to the Speedway to watch Kyle race. We did'nt go to watch him the last time and he won  its better now because they've put a beer garden in   so you know where we'll be ;) |
