My gym instructor said I must limit myself to no more than 2 pieces of wholemeal per day as it is likely that is where a lot of my excess calories are coming from. Yes, I was extremely addicted too!

I have managed to control the bread intake now that I exercise regulary, I couldn't have done it otherwise.

I dont know if I can live without cheese on toast :(

I'm pretty sure that's my all time uber weakness.

Have that for your lunch then! I find it is about portion control. I have cheese most days and a scoop of ice cream (low fat in both cases, of course) and am managing to lose. Its probably helping actually as I dont feel like I am going without.

Hope that helps.:carrot:

I realize that it's not the same thing, but have you tried switching to wraps? There isn't the same temptation to overeat a low carb whole wheat tortilla as there is a nice soft piece of bread. I rarely buy bread, but I do eat one tortilla every morning with 3 egg whites and sometimes a slice of low fat cheese (breakfast burrito). Sometimes I take a turkey wrap to school instead of a sandwich. Just a thought...

I do like it but not sure if it likes me! I do sometimes get stomach crampting afterwards but not all the time. However toast is a comfort food. I don't get it that often. However I have occasional cravings for French sticks or the Eastern European (Polish/Ukranian/whatever) Rye bread with caraway seeds in it and I do like a bit of pitta with houmous!

Do you eat white or wholemeal? I avoid white at all costs because I experience the same as you when I eat it. If I eat wholemeal I am okay.

Hi there :) yep can say im there on the bread front i absolutely love warm just baked bread mmmmmmm and asda is so evil coz evertime u go in it always smells of freshly baked bread. I moved away from bread as soon as i started at weight watchers and have ryvitas instead, the only time i tend to eat bread now is if im out and grab a sandwich but i always feel sluggish and lethargic afterwards

Hi ninababes - I read your name as nine babies! Yes I avoid going in supermarkets when the may be baking!

ClaireC - I prefer Rye or wholemeal but it depends on my finances of course.
