I thought it was really sad. There didn't seem to be many success stories and some of those people seemed to have given up hope completely

Those kinds of things always make me feel bad. I know I was never as big as them...but I still see myself as them. Some people just treasure food the most and don't want to give it up...no everyone wants to live for different reasons.

It's depressing and I almost always cry over things like that. And it makes me wonder if I was on my way to that if I didn't try to diet.

I couldn't make it past about 15 mins of it. It was horrible I have no idea why itv would show this programme. More suited to channel 5.

I am up to date with 'help my dogs as fat as me' though. I was telling the dog we're going on it if we don't stop eating snacks.

It was sad and they know full well what they are doing to themselves but they are addicted to food. It is an addiction like any other except you can't avoid food. We have to eat. Most of us love food and we overeat or have overeaten , that's why we are here, right? But most of us are not addicted to food as we can control what we eat and stop when we are full and make wise choices for the food we buy and eat.

The saddest was the young man who almost died. He had been there for ages, a year or so? and had not lost a single pound because he refused to follow the healthy eating plan. What else did he have in his life except for food? Just laying in bed, not working , looking after a family , socialising, all the normal things. I'm not even sure how his insurance allows him to stay there

My sister's got me recording that for her because her dog's a bit on the big side. OK, a lot on the big side.

That 'My Dogs as fat as me' programme is a little bit weird - just wish they'd focus on the dogs and not the dog/human partnership - seems to me the human part of the partnership let the dogs down.

I've only seen it a couple of times but the doggy diet they suggest really works... its what George is on and he's lost loads of weight on it - the only problem is that too much leafy green veg makes him a bit windy.

George's doggy diet was (basically) switch to dry dog food. Look at the bag and see the quantity suggested for your type of dog at the weight he or she OUGHT to be... then halve it. Mix it with some warm water and let it stand to absorbe the water. Then fill up their bowl with cooked vegetables and mix in the dog food.
