OMG I haven't had pancakes for ages. I'm drooling. Off to make some more...

YP1 02-20-2007 03:55 PM

I'm stuffed :)

I kind of feel like I ought to give something up now to make up for the pancake fest that's just gone on.

I'm so jealous, have just come in from an evening at my brother in laws and I've not even had a sniff of a pancake :(

this is for the slimming world eating plan which i am trying to get back into at the moment
syns per recipe:
6½ Syns on Green and Original

Ingredients:
1 tbsp chocolate spread
50g canned black cherries
Very low fat natural yogurt

Method:
1. Warm the natural yogurt over a bowl of boiling water. Stir in the chocolate spread until completely blended with the natural yogurt.

2. Heat the cherries in a pan or microwave until hot and gooey.

3. Pour the cherries into the middle of your pancake and wrap. Drizzle over the chocolaty goo and enjoy!

So a pancake isn't an american pancake...its more like a crepe, right?

Mmmm. Crepe.

Thanks for filling in a clueless American.

weemissnaughty 02-20-2007 07:57 PM

mmm yummie pancakes - nahh i dont make mines like crepes tho i make mine all chunkie!! just had one (biig) pancake wiv lemon juice in and sum sugar  luvely! do other people prefer them thin or thick? big argument bout that in my household lol!!!

YP1 02-21-2007 03:37 AM

I definitely prefer thin pancakes.

We had thin rye flour pancakes and I stuffed my face with just about everything else too! I got home starving, but had to wait for DH to get home for pancakes - I should've just eaten my own and then done his when he got back  So I ate a chocolate muffin that was floating around in the cupboard, and nuts, and then I went and had cheese on my pancake, then I had a choc ice and somewhere inbetween making pancakes and eating pancakes I ate a flapjack, then I had another flapjack while I was reading in bed  Bringing yesterday's grand calorie total to 3000 :o :tantrum: SIGH. Well today is another (non-pancake) day and I'm giving up chocolate and cakes for lent. Telling this to DH he said, "But you don't eat chocolate. Or cakes..." What a healthy impression I must give off! This is the man that LIVES with me   I have a piece of chocolate every day, but I am giving that up, and I will give up bakery stuff too, I don't really eat much of that but after last night I don't even want to eat healthy stuff :barf:

Oh and thin normal pancakes but the cottage cheese pancakes I make turn out quite thick :T

No.... size/thickness is just a matter of choice. I made one batch in a large pan but fairly thin so I could easily wrap them around the vegetable filling I then baked them in a low fat cheese sauce - but I then made another batch (same recipe) all for DH which I made in a smaller pan but thicker.... and he ate the lot with sweet toppings. I thought he was going to explode.

Pancakes are just so more-ish. I knew that if I ate one I'd go on to eat way too many, so didn't dare risk it. I like the thin ones best, with plain old simple lemon and sugar - yum :)
