Ok so I have just been feeling really lazy this week - especially since it is soooo darn cold outside. I didn't go to the gym yesterday as I cleaned house all day long (my best friend is coming ) and then in the evening I went grocery shopping.
I was getting up early with my husband and leaving at 7am with him and walking to the gym - however now that it is getting colder I dread that walk. It's cold, WINDY, and raining outside....hmmm sounds like a bunch of excuses to me - i know i know i know - i just need to get ready - walk my butt to the corner of the street and catch the bus there!!!!!!!!!!
Last week I hit under 230 and I sooo very much wanna hit under 220 soon so I guess it's not gonna shrink away just sitting here is it.
Well chicas I suppose - im gonna go scrounge the change jar for bus fare and make an attempt to go.
I can't wait until I can go back to the states and bring back the rest of my belongings - i have a treadmill sittin there waiting to get used!!!!!!!!!!
Am i alone in this - anyone else dread it when its cold outside and you have to go somewhere to exercise?????
For me, the weather outside has nothing to do with it--I dread the exercise regardless But yes, when it's gloomy, it is much harder to build up the will to actually go out. I go straight to the gym after work, so I don't have to make an added trip out. I know if I go home after work, there is NO WAY I will be leaving my warm, cozy home to head for the gym (not that it's cold here yet, but I still wouldn't leave home for the gym) Maybe you could stay home and do some workout tapes instead so you don't have to go out?
Hi, I understand, believe me. I live in Florida though, and it's not cold today, but VERY rainy. We are having a tropical storm (TS Tina) sitting over the top of us right now. Lots and lots and lots of blinding rain and some wind. I had good intentions of going to Curves this morning (it's about 10 miles from me) after I dropped my son at school, but it is so nasty out and I am nervous driving in the rain, that I just came home instead. You were talking about walking, so you are really being brave! LOL Catching the bus is a good idea. We live on Merritt Island (and it really is an island!) but to get from our house (out in the "boonies" to civilization so to speak, it's much more than walking distance, and also no sidewalks, so I can't bike too far. Driving is a must where I live and I HATE driving in bad weather cause there are so many more chances of an accident.
Anyway, I came home and now I am trying to talk myself into doing a Leslie Walk Away the pounds DVD or maybe a tae bo dvd.
Ohhhh Myyyy Gosshhh - I just went to peak outside to check if it stopped raining yet. well it did stop raining - except now its SNOWING!
I can't believe it - to think my husband thought i was crazy last night when i asked if we could turn the heat on in the house.
Well i am dressed - just gotta put my socks/runners on and get bundled and then i am out the door.
I have workout tapes -
*full set of tae bo tapes
*kathy smith -exercise ball workout
*denise austin - get fit fast abs
But the problem is - I will say I'll just stay home and do them - but in reality i just wont - our living room is very small and there is not a lot of room to move around -- once we get our basement finished i am making a workout room down there !
Kari.. I heard on the news, will be some snow here in minnesota, wyoming, out west later this week... I can wait!!! we get our fair share... I would like to get a video for the ball, I tried a class and have never used one, it was really funny What video do you use, I need one for basic beginners....
Well I went to the gym and worked out for a little over an hour and now im back. phew - got it done for the day! It is soo cold out though - snowing snowing snowing and its stickin to the ground now cuz it rained before hand and everything is soo wet and slushy.
I bought my workout ball and well frankly I don't use it like I should. It is suppose to be really good though for strengthening your back as well as other areas.
I have not tried any other videos for the ball however if your looking for a beginner video I think this one is good - it's nice because they show you ways that you can do it for beginning and a tougher more advanced version as well.
The video that I have is:
Kathy Smith Time Saver Shaper Ball Workout
summary:
A quick 30 minute workout provides three different intensity levels for every exercise, so you can design a workout that's as easy or hard as you need.
Includes a 12 minute ab and back workout that strengthens your body's "core" helping you develope greater stability and balance, while firming and flattening your stomach.
Also includes a 10-minute lower body workout that targets the inner and outer thighs, hips, buttocks, and calves.
I believe I purchased it at Walmart and it wasn't very expensive!
I live in Minnesota, and I fall into that pattern, too. It gets so cold, and dark very quickly. The worst times are when it's dark outside when I get to work and it's dark when I leave again.
I tend to do more indoor videos at home in the winter. I live not too far from Mall of America, and I believe if you mallwalk all three floors, you will get a three-mile walk in. It's much easier when mallwalking with a friend, too. I wish I could throw on a pair of Sorrells and a down parka and enjoy the snow, but I'm not that into it. When I was a kid, I used to ice skate and go sledding, but I haven't been able to muster up the energy to do that, either.
