September A NEW MONTH!

  • I just wanted to tell everyone HI and I hope you all have a great weekend!

Things are getting a little better here. The kids will start back at school in one more week. Now we here they will take some Christmas vacation away along with some other holidays to make up.

We are supposed to get mail service back today!! Hooray!

We have stores open here but it is just scary that you have to go into the bank one at a time him escorted by a security guard. Also the same at like Walmart. Only allowing so many people in at a time then the rest have to wait in a line outside guarded by National Guard members.

I tell you it is just scary for the kids right now but at least we are protected.

I need to get up and going but I just wanted to tell everyone I was thinking of you !
  • Glad to see that things are getting a little better sis, We have a few church camps even here that are taking anywhere from 100 to 200 evacuees, I hope to be able to help at one place not too far from here as soon as more people arrive, I cant afford to go too far on account of gas being so high, But I will go to the one that is only about 10 minutes away when they get them set up. I want to do kitchen work if they need help there, I guess being a waitress for about 5 years when I was younger just may pay off

Oh I was gonna ask you if you would help me make the Thanksgiving challenge a sticky , I just dont know how to do that LOL, I can email and post pics now but beyond that I have alot tooo learn about these computers

Sending hugs and prayers to you ...
  • Christie,
You are a wonderful person to help out! I know you always have been a great friend!

I am gonna try to go to the Red Cross today to help hand out things to others in need also.

I will sticky the Challenge for you. Talk to you soon, Penny
  • Thanks Penny
  • Penny... Glad to hear things are improving... There are many relief efforts here in the north too (NY) Not sure if any evacuees are coming here, nobody wants to live here, haha (frozen north snow belt ). Keep the faith... India
  • We are collecting money in our TOPS group for Katrina TOPS chapters. All leaders received letters telling us the best way to help is to send it to headquarters and they will get it to Katrina area coordinators in areas that need it. One of my members is collecting for animal shelter that is receiving animals from area.
This tragedy is going to be with us for a long time.
  • It sounds like this is definitely a Nation Wide Effort. I am glad to hear so many people are involved in such a difficult time.

    Thanks for being great friends
