Hi guys !!!
I found this in my Womans World magazine, I always wondered if I was getting enough calories so here is what it reads....

FOLLOW YOUR CALORIE FORMULA

Allow yourself about 12 calories for every pound of your goal weight. For example, if you want to get down to 125 pounds, you have 1500 calories a day to work with.
And if your goal is to hit 150 it would be 1800 calories daily

Have a SUPER DAY GUYS!!!!

Hi! I put that I get the right amount daily! I usually do get the "right amount of calories" But not always the "right calories". I am eating them but not the right stuff. I want to get in the right amounts of the right proteins, carbs, fats, fruits, veggies. Where can I find a list of how many I should get daily? Thanks Penny

Like how many grams of carbs is too much?

Default OK heres somemore info according to the magazine

Wendy- I know it seems like alot of calories, but I notice when I dont eat enough I feel bad, then I end up eating too much later that week,so I was just curious to see if it works better if I increased the right calories, BUt I totally agree that it sounds like it would be too many.. I will try it and let ya know how it goes

Penny- Here is what the Richard Simmons article says you should get a day, I am not sure on the carb thing but am sure that Sherri could help on that one.....

Get Enough Of The Basic Six

Balance is the key to staying healthy and energized. So include all of the following groups in your menus:

6 servings of starchy foods, such as a slice of bread or half a cup of pasta or soup
2 servings fruit (about the size of your fist)
3 cups of raw vegetables or 1/2 cup cooked
2 servings of lean protien, such as two egg whites or a palm sized piece of meat, fish or poultry
2 servings of dairy foods, such as a cup of milk or yogurt or two dice sized cubes of cheese
2 smidgens of fat

Add Delicious Extras!
Use your remaining calorie "budget"!
to make your meals special, Some bacon bits, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, a litle chocolate_ yummy bonuses like these will keep you feeling satsfird and keep the cravings at bay.

That is what the article says I hope it helps, I know I eat less bread and more fruits but at least this gives a balanced plan, and I know alot of people who have done well on Richards programs... Keep up the great work guys!!!

Also Penny,
the american diabetic foundation has information on this. If you go by recommended daily allowances.
1200 calories about. add more for other things exsisting weight ect.
2-3 fruits
2 dairy
3-6 veggies
4-6 proteins
6-11 bread
3 fats use in moderation.
if you look under resources here, there is alot of information. You can sort out what you want and don't want.

Keep up the good work.

I just wanted to say that I wasn't getting enough calories and that is why I started gaining. But to tell me I need to eat more did terrible damage because eating more is very hard for me. I can't seem to keep it where I need to be without going over for the day. It is a win lose situation sometimes and very frustrating. But I have to agree with christie that others have said to me that when they ate more calories they were satisfied and they were still losing weight. I just have to find the happy medium I guess. It is so hard for me and I don't understand why.

I will get it together one of these days.LOL
