  • Hi
I'm new to the forum--I belong to tops--I joined last November but I just started attending regularly. Since I recommitted, I've lost lbs. But I am sliding already just feeling generally discouraged. I am going to be forty next October and I would love it if I was a size 14 by then--but with everything else it feels impossible.
At my last weigh-in, I weighed 232--according to the BMI/ weight chart in the tops book-- at 220, I will move from the extremely obese category to the severely obese category. So, my goal right now is 220. After reading your posts I going to go drink some water and figure out my game plan for the rest of the week.
  • Hi Becky,

The combined bios is where you should post your info for your bio. You will have to scroll down. I hope you are having a great week on plan and getting your water and exercise. Keep up the great work.

    Hi Maryln,

Don't get discouraged. You made the most important decision all ready by recommitting yourself to tops. That is a great thing. You need to do this for you. Take one day at a time. Don't try and put unrealistic goals on yourself. If it is realistic to reach a size 14 by next october then that is fine. But if not lose the weight at your own pace. If you follow your plan and stick with us then you will eventually reach your goal. But if you put unrealistic goals on yourself and you don't reach them because it is impossibe for the time frame that you have set then you are setting yourself up for a fall. Make small goals and reach them one at a time. Break up your total weight to lose. Take it one day at a time and then you won't get overwhelmed and each day as you stay on plan you will be very proud of yourself. You should be also. That is a great acheivement. This is a lifestyle change and it is for life. So we have to do it at our own pace. That is great that you are setting a plan for yourself for the rest of the week. What days do you weigh in on?

    Hi Wrbedell,

That is a great thing that you maintained. At least you didn't have a gain. Make good choices for foods this week and exercise and you will have a loss next week. Keep up the great work.
I hope that your hands will get better after your therapy.

    Hi Eleni,

How is the training going? Are you getting bored seeing that you already took this course before.LOL Hey at least your mind was thinking in the right direction for exercising, and you were organized enough to bring your radio and shoes. Tomorrow bring the batteries.LOL
That is great that you got in 20 min though. Are you still going to walk on the beach even though you walk during your lunchbreak? I think you are doing great with all the walking you are doing. Keep up the great work. In the new TOPS newsletter that I just got today there is a place where you can order an exercise logbook and you can get ribbons and pins. I talked to the new leader that is going to take over and asked her to look at it. I would like our chapter to get some of these so that me and others can receive ribbons and pins for the exercise that we do. Eleni you can do that to. Just keep track of your walking and then you can get ribbons and pins to. I did walk twice this week along with my toning and aerobics exercises. But it will be nice to record my exercise and keep track of it. I hope we get the logbooks so I can use it myself.
I put in 5 1/2 hours today. I had my first meeting with the other companies. We are going to try and bring in other companies. I have 2 companies to contact. I contacted one today. I stopped in but they are not interested in joining because they don't have the time they are to involved with the chamber of commerce. So now I have to come up with another carpet place and try to get them in our group. Plus I am responsible for bringing in a security alarms place to. I have a name and place to contact. I will call them tomorrow. I won't be going anywhere tomorrow because we are supposed to be getting another storm her tonight into tomorrow night. So we will see how much snow we get this time. I can't wait for summer and the warm weather.LOL

Have a great day everyone and talk to you tomorrow.

    Sherri
  • Evening all. I am late getting on tonight. Yesterday I weighed in and didn't do as well as I thought but I was down 1/4# so at least down. I went into the walk in clinic today for my goal slip and he insisted on doing my blood pressure which turned out to be 170 over 95 so now I have to go back in two weeks and he doesn't want me exercising but I did go to yoga as that is not too bad I think. I have to start on some medication so it should be fine in no time. At least he didn't nag about my weight and was quite sympathetic actually.

Glad you got your walk in Eleni. Stick with it girly.

Welcome Marilyn! You'll get lots of support here.

I hope everyone had a good day today and I hope tomorrow is a better day!....
