Wink Wed - Oct 8

Hello Ladies,

Thanks for all the thoughts. I just caught up with the threads since I haven't been on since last thursday. Sounds like most everyone is doing well and those that are struggling never give up. Weigh to go girls!!!!

Welcome to the new members and big 'kudos' to all my buddies.

Things are not going well here. Dh isn't around on weekends and only awake for 5 hrs [at most] after he gets home from work. Trying to get some things done here and he goes to his moms frequently since she appears to be failing fast. In the hospital with a 'pneumonia' diagnosis, but she isn't showing the symptoms, ie, coughing, low oxygen, temps, chest discomfort, etc. Her Dr is one that I wouldn't go to, but you know how old people are [93], they think Dr's are 'gods'. DH said she was unsteady this weekend at home and has no desire to eat. I'm here with DD and she was sick for 4 days.......just held my breath and did a lot of praying that I could control her temps. The prayers were answered with her. I wouldn't mind taking care of MIL, but she could never come up to our altitude ...... and I thought about going to her place [120 miles away], but it isn't set up to take care of dd there. I have suggested for years that adaptations start getting made, but nothing got done. We are all going through a very stressful time with MIL ...... and I still have all the legal 'adulthood' paperwork I need to do with DD. Next tuesday is her big annual meeting for her school plan and we always have a professional advocate there. Am I ready for the looney farm yet?????????

Oh man, I gotta go. I will post my weigh in on the monthly thread later tonight. Hope you all have a great day. Sorry I couldn't address everyone individually, but Nita, the colors are just beautiful and this is the latest the leaves have changed. Lots of brilliant deep golds, oranges and even some reds this year.

to all
Summer

Hi Everyone,

Just have a few minutes before I go out and get the lawn work started. I've been waiting for the grass to dry a little.

Summer......It sounds like you have more than your share of stress. Hope your daughter is continuing to get better. It is hard when you have an aging parent to take care of, and we can't always do what we would like to with them. My MIL was very ill and her daughter didn't want to be the one to take care of her. I wanted to bring her over here to live with us, but she opted for a HMO instead of medicare and the HMO didn't have a dr. in our area. And she thought her doctor was a "god" too. So, it was very hard on us driving over there and trying to find someone to come in and help us. That was 3 years ago, but I remember all the stressful problems that we encountered. Time passes and when I look back, I'm glad that we did all we could do for her. I hope that things get better for you soon. If you get a little time for yourself, enjoy all the beauty of the season around you. You are worth it. Take care and I'll be thinking of you.

Penny, its good to have you back posting.
I'll try to get back later, I want to get that yard work done before it gets too hot.

Nita

Gool morning all

Going to be another beautiful day here ... 80 they say

A couple of trees have started to turn so after this week I'll just have to get used to the idea that it's fall. Actually I love fall ... guess when it went from 80 degrees to 50 degrees, I just wasn't ready ... we missed the 60's

Penny - 9 mo 8 mo & 4 mo .... 3 & 4 ... all at once?? You're either crazy or a saint My 2 yo & 4.5 mo boys are enough for me to handle! You should get to goal in no time chasing after all those boys Don't be too hard on Sherri ... she's pregnant (I'm still using that excuse ... i hear you have 6 months-hee hee)

Summer - hope all goes well with your MIL. I'll keep her in my prayers!

Hi to everyone else and have a great day!

Geri,
You and penny sound like my boss blaming my pregnacy on my lack of brain power.LOL I don't know where I got that from sorry geri. You are so lucky to be getting 80 degree weather. It is sunny and in the high sixties today. Not bad. But I prefer 80. I should move in with Eleni.LOL Don't know if she could handle me though.
Hope you enjoy your beautiful weather and you are right fall is right around the corner.
Makes me feel good to know that you are doing or trying the 123 plan as well. It is working well for me. When are you going to try the South Beach diet? Let me know how you like it. I have heard of it but don't know how it works. I am sticking to the 123 plan because it works for me. All plans don't work for eveyone. You have to find what works for you and stick to that. Like eleni says don't keep changing back and forth. You have to stick to one plan that you know works for you and you will reach goal in time.

Penny I felt the kick in the @#@$#$@. Thanks I needed that. Gald that the atkins is working for you. Thought you hated that plan.LOL I gained on that one. But if it is working and it sounds like it is keep it up. You can do this. Yeah a girl finally. How do you like having a girl around? When do you get the newborn or did you already?
My first official dr's appt is on friday. They put me in for 1 hour so I have to a chance to talk to the mid wife. I am looking forward to hearing the baby's heartbeat. I think that is so neat. I will let you know how it goes.

I am doing well again. I turtled this morning and I was fine with that. I am sticking to my points again today. As long as I stick to my points I should be fine. I am going to let the midwife know I am doing the ww so they know. But I am getting enough to eat everyday which is good.

Well I have to go. Who is off monday for Columbus Day? I am I took the day off. Didn't have a sitter for megan.

Have a great day all

Christie and Summer glad to hear from you both.

Summer you and Melissa are in my thoughts and prayers and your MIL. You need a lot of them. Take care of you girl. Things will settle down in time.

Christie enjoy the orchard.

Sherri

Back again,

These darn phones keep ringing ... these people must think I'm here to work today rather than post to this thread ... jeez

Sherri, I'm gonna use the 'pregnancy brain' for as long as I can! I never had such a short attention span before kids ... or is it from aging ?? I did just turn 40

Anyhoo, I lost somewhere around 70 pounds on the 123 plan a few years ago (before the marriage & 1st pregnancy). It worked for me as long as I kept counting my points. I try, but don't always succeed! I don't know when or if I'll try the southbeach. I want to get ahold of the book first to look into it more. I saw the food lists on the SB threads here and it doesn't look too bad. I need to read more to see how to fit in the occasional treats. I have 2 birthday parties and a wedding coming up over the next 2 weekends and with counting points I know how to figure it in.

I lived alone when I lost all that weight, so I didn't keep alot of "junk" around & had plenty of time for exercise. Just have to do better time management once I'm done here. Exercise is really the key for me.

I agree, the heartbeat is the greatest thing!!

Take care!

Hi Ladies!
Well it looks to be a busy day for everyone!

Summer ~ I know how you feel When it rains, it pours, i tell you. I am praying for you and your family.

Geri,
I know on the new ww plan you have flex points to spend for special occasions. We have a wedding this weekend. I have decided to eat a big salad and my water before we go. I don't eat as much if I have already ate and am full.
Oh, and don't forget about the 11mo. old baby. Don't think I do it by myself. I would go crazy. My mom does it with me. I have a new baby coming soon. That will be the end. I can't keep anymore. My kids would n't get any attention. I breastfeed my son so he has to get attention.....

Sherri!
Congrats on the turtle. I know it is very exciting to hear a heartbeat. It is a wonderful experience and you always remember it. I hope you do get to experience the 3D ultrasound.
As for Atkins, I have always hated the way they won't let you have carbs in the beginning, but I was convinced to give it a try. I figured it can't hurt, and it didn't. I am now down 6 pounds. I know it won't stay that fast but I am still 13 pounds away from my prepregnancy weight.

Nita ~ You are always on the move. Keep it up! Being active also helps keep the weight down. I just planted a veggie garden w/ broccoli, lettuce, mustard and turnip greens, califlower, green onions And we just finished my chicken pin
I had chickens last year and some dogs jumped the fence and killed them Needless to say i was very upset.

YEP, I am farming here in Loooouisiana....... YEE HAH!
I figured I would come out cheaper with my own veggies. They are so expensive.

Christie~ Hey Girl! An orchard sounds like a great place to go. I want to get away and do something like that. It sounds like a great place. What do you usually pick? Take care

Have a wonderful night! Keep your head held high and keep reaching for the stars! Penny
