  • Hello Everyone,

Congratulations, Nancy, on being just 1.5 lb. away from your goal. You will be there in no time. Way to go!

Beth, you are doing great. I believe you are the one that was best loser this week and have a good weight loss for this month. Keep up the good work.

Eleni...You are doing great this month also. Those monthly weigh-ins look really nice when they are all in the black. Your installation banquet sounds nice. We always go out to lunch after installation and on awards day. Everyone in our group thinks its easier. Even tho I was reelected as leader, I don't think I will go out to eat next week. They are going to Ryan's and I don't do well at buffets. Our only food function at the meeting is our yearly open house. And we make a big deal out of that.

Christie..Congrats on having the job you really want. It's great that you can be home with your little ones.

Bev..Glad that you are feeling better. That infection seemed to stay around for a long time. We're getting rain, today, too, and I'm glad. It was so hot and muggy the last few days and the rain has cooled it down. I'm not in any hurry for hot weather. I love having my back door and windows open and being able to eat on the screened in porch. I guess that comes from being raised in the country.

I had a .75 lb. loss today. I was hoping for more, but it just isn't coming off. I think that I need to adjust my calories and exercise to make sure that I am burning more than I eat. Do any of you know much about RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) I know there are places that you can go and have it measured. Mine is estimated to be 1350, but I think I must be slower that that. Even tho I only lost three fourths of a pound, I tied with 2 other people for best loser of the week.

Hope everyone is doing well and keeping OP.

  • HI Ladies,

To address the snow situation that has made the news from Denver. It is their 2nd all time high snowfall and the airport that has been shut down since Monday eve finally reopened with very minimal service last night. Unbelievable. The main interstate I-70 has been shut down, not only due to snow, but also avalanche dangers. I'm not sure if it has reopened yet. Dh had tues and wed off and luckily, my town at twice the elevation of Denver, only got 10 or so inches compared to their 'official 31.5 inches. That doesn't even tell the story. Many places had 60 to almost 90 inches around the 'official' recording site. DD college roommate has to pick up her boyfiend at the airport tomorrow. She'll make it there but might have to do a 150 mile detour. YIKES! DD is lucky, she is heading to Vegas Sunday. Wish I were going with her and her boyfriend!

Eleni and Nita, I see where Fla has been having record high temps and your nighttime lows aren't getting very low. Okay, forget Vegas, I'll come see you nice ladies! Oh, CONGRATS to both of you on your losses!!! Have nice Installation ceremonies ladies.

Christie, enjoy being at home. It will be a nice change of pace and I'm sure the kids will love having mom around more.

Bev, glad you're feeling better and you will get the extra weight off. Always keep trying.................

Nancy, you are soooooooooooooooooo close! You'll feel wonderful when you reach your goal. Celebrate that great accomplishment....not with food, mind you!

One bad thing that has made it's way into this house is the Quaker Natural Granola type cereal........you know........the kind with 220 cals in only 1/2 cup! It is so good to just grab and eat dry. It had been years since we got it cause it's so expensive, but they had to go and put it on sale! Must keep that boxtop closed. Am doing fine, except for that.

Must run........have a great start to another weekend. Take care and don't forget to drink your water!

  • Hi Everyone,

Have you seen the April issue of the TOPS magazine. It has our Fl state queen for 2000 as one of the Greatest Improvement contest winners. She is one of the ladies that spoke at our open house last January. We were the first ones that she told she was a winner. She was a beautiful queen and gives very inspirational speeches.
