Friday 3-14

  • Happy Friday Ladies,

Another day to stay on plan and think about all that warm weather around the corner. Speaking of warm weather......

Eleni, We were so warm yesterday. All the way up to 41......so unheard of for this time of year!!!! In fact this morning it went from 14 to 32 in 1.5 hours by 8:30 am. Now the ski areas are saying it's melting too fast. All the spring breakers are due soon......but I am loving the heat. Told dh that we may have to break out the 'natural' airconditioning [opening the door....no one has air here]. Denver tied their record yesterday at 74! It won't last....gonna get more snow Sun.....but oh, it feels GOOD!! Congrats on your loss!!!! Keep it going in that direction.....little by little....together we can!

Coco, so good to see your post. We all have bad times....don't be embarrassed to come here or go to your meetings. I know we don't like ourselves at those moments, but that's what support is all about. You'll get it back under control. Wanda gave you wonderful advice.

Wanda, I think you had a little gain this week.....you too will lose that in no time. It must be wonderful to have an area that is so active in TOPS activities. Are you in a largely populated area?

I have had a good week with eating and moving the old bod. Walked 2.5 miles yesterday and biked 2. The knee is not feeling good today and feels like it wants to give out from under me. I will run my errands today in the car.

Have a great weekend all. We all will strive to work towards our healthier bodies that will soon be exposed more to the warmer temps. Don't forget the water.....the substance our bodies are mostly made up of!

  • It is so warm here too! Supposed to snow here again on Sunday as well but I am sure enjoying the weather, it can stay. I am freakin sick of snow!

Sure miss you all but it just seems I never have a free minute these days.

    Life update:

    1. New job involing mucho training
    2. Son in Vancouver at school and got a grant to make a movie
    3. Split my chapter and am Leader

Those are the biggies and they consume a ton of time. Plus as I was deciding to split my squabbling chapter up I must confess to being consumed with envy towards those of you who have happy sweet chapters. I didn't want to post all my negativity and create a bad impression for those who know nothing about TOPS.

A little bragging on my chapter tho, last week -25.5 lbs, +1.25 lbs for a total of -24 lbs for 16 members. Thing are going AWESOME and I love TOPS again.
Who Hoo SA(insert # when we get it) Moose Jaw!

To all HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

    and for yooooooouuuuuuu Summer a big ol' shot of knee mending {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{vibes}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
  • Hi Everyone,

It's good to see you posting again CC. We've missed you.

Coco, don't get discouraged. We all have times when we just don't want to diet anymore, but you will get thru that and get back on track. I've been there lots of times. Just don't get discouraged and give up.

Summer, I'm glad that it has warmed up some for you. I think that I would get cabin fever if I lived where it was so cold that I couldn't get out and do things. It gets too hot here. I love the winters in FL, but the summers are so hot and muggy. We pay for our mild winters with the heat in the summer.

Congratulations to all of you that had a loss this week. I looked in on the March weigh-in board and it looks like we are doing good with the losses this month.

Our chapter has been doing really well this year. We had a net loss of 33.50 lbs this morning. It brought us up to a total of 125 lbs this year. Not bad for an older chapter with a few new members. I had a turtle.

Welcome to the new people and have a great weekend everyone.

  • WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOO Tammy, so good to see you back.....and a bunch of those {{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}} right back at ya!!!!! Glad you have a chapter going that is good. A bad one can drag people down.....and if you don't have good leadership, it will happen. I don't know why more people won't take the initiative to split away and form a new chapter. So much LESS energy goes into that than sticking with a non-active one. GOOD FOR YOU! Your son doing a movie???? All I can do is see him in that jester hat! Keep posting......................so happy to see you again!

Nita, good going on your turtle. Any no-gainer deserves a round of applause. By the way, how is your bil? Do have to say our summers are absolutely beautiful and all the Denverites escape the city when it is sweltering down there. Tourism is our towns main income.

Welcome to the newbies too, and please join us on the daily threads.

  • Hello all,

I don't know if anyone remembers me but I have not been in here lately due to my own stubbornness.

I have had a very bad year but yet good for some weight loss. Lets see what has happened since I last posted. Way to much. I don't know if I posted after my baby was born. That was a year ago. She will be 1 on March 22. My husband left us on October 18th and as of last week I am divorced. I an having a hard time with his leaving and that is because he left me for someone else. It's been about 9 weeks since he has really spent time with the kids but I guess that is his lose but doesn't give me a chance to do anything. Well I guess we will see what happens in a couple of years when he leaves her for someone else that is his trademark I guess. Take care all I really just wanted to say hello. I will check in once and awhile but I don't know when I will get back here.
  • The latest on my BIL.
He was found in Wilkesboro, NC, quite a distance from Fredericksburg, after being lost for 5 days. He had not eaten in all that time. He ran out of gas and when someone stopped for him and called the police, he told them he worked for Wal-marts and they took him to the nearest Walmart. He had been in a river, somewhere, and had fallen and scraped up his knee and leg very badly. The people at Wal-marts were wonderful to him. They took him to a motel for a shower and gave him clean clothes and fed him. When the family got him home, they took him to the hospital. I think his leg was infected and he was probably dehydrated. When I talked to my other sister a couple of days ago, he was still in the hospital, but was doing good. He doesn't have a clear memory of where he was or what he did, but knows everyone in the family. I don't know what my sister is going to do. It doesn't sound like she is able to take care of him. Her daughter is staying with her and trying to work out a way to take care of them both. I am concerned about them.

Hi Tamara (Icewoman) I remember you from last year. Sorry to hear that you have been going thru so much. Come back and visit us as often as you can.

BTW, I found a dress for SRD that I liked very much. It's a deep pink 2 piece. It has a long skirt and the top buttons up like a short sleeve suit. It's a dress that I can shorten, (if I want to), and use for other events.

I have workshop tomorrow. It's between 75-80 miles away and will take most of the day. I wish that I hadn't told them I would come. I dread driving over there, but 3 of the other members are going with me and that will be better than going alone.

    Til later

    Nita
  • Wow Nita, Thanks for the update on your BIL. I am so sorry for your sister, she does have a lot to be concerned about. I know there are various devices that nursing homes use to alert them when patients try to leave the facilities. Maybe she can get something she can use at home. If he can still take care of most of his other needs, maybe that could help the wandering, and he would still be able to live at home. I'm a real advocate for trying to keep people in there homes as long as possible. I don't doubt that he was dehydrated. Poor guy.......my heart goes out to them.

Sounds like you found a beautiful dress for SRD. You'll have a good time at your workshop with the other 3. I appreciate the ones that drive 270 miles round trip to come to ours. People like you make field staff feel proud to have you in TOPS.

Tamara, good to see you hanging in there. You have been through a lot and were here to help you on your weight loss journey. Take care of yourself.

    Talk to everyone later...................
