Wendy, congrats on getting the leader position. Have a good time with leading the group, but don't try to 'run' it. Get very familiar with the Chapter Guide book and the Guide to Weight Recording. You'll do fine.

Linlin, sorry your kiddo is sick. I don't think too many are escaping the 'cruds'. Hope the road to recovery is a short one.

Sherri, Hope you're doing well. I think you said the scale isn't moving, but if those pants are still looser, you're doing OK. Something to think about......even though you are eating a lot of fruit and they are 'natural' 'good' sugars, they are still high in carbs.......banana's and grapes are some of the worst. Don't know if this will help, but it's a thought. Hang in friend.

Eleni, are you ready to take another year by the horns and lead your chapter on to betterness? I wish I had you in my group. Hope the weigh in will be good to you.....don't do what I did!!!

Nita, any word on your brother-in-law? My heart goes out to you and your sister. Take care of yourself.

Me????? Oh boy, did I ever start this month off bad. I gained 5.25 last night and am shocked at the amount. I knew it would be something, just not THAT!!!! Now I have so much further to go. Time to totally regroup myself on the eating front. I know others can relate when you're caring for ill kiddo's. Mine got sick Monday....and just keeps needing more and more oxygen. I'm not sleeping much since she needs a lot of suctioning and the seizures have greatly increased. She always has them daily, but they have intensified. She does grand mals 2-3x's/yr....and we're at that point. Put's my nursing knowledge to use. Our chapter kept the same people in the offices they had last year. I'm assuming I'll be lead wt recorder again. The leader had a funeral today so couldn't be there, but I know no one else will want it. I don't mind......I have things so organized it's a snap.

Hope everyone else is doing fine. We have a lot of MIA's again. Maybe everyone is keeping warm under the electric blankets or buried in the snow drifts, but a would be nice. I know, I know Eleni, you have your air conditioner on! Go ahead, make me jealous. Have a great day all.

I got the good news last night. My BIL was found in Wilkesboro, NC. I don't have all the details yet as my brother and SIL from Roanoke, VA was on their way to pick him up. It seems that he ran out of gas along the road and the police ran a license check on him and found a red flag next to his number and notified the family. The assistant manager or night manager at Wal-marts there went out and got him and was keeping him at the store until my brother got there. I just thank God that he was found and seems to be okay. I'll know more when I talk to brother and SIL today.

Summer...Sorry you had a gain. It's amazing how fast the weight goes on and how slow it is coming off again. But you can do it. And I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is sick. I hope that she will be better soon.

It's a little after 4 AM, and I'm wide awake. I didn't go to bed until about 11 and got up about 3. There are times when I just can't sleep very much.

Summer I hope your daughter is better soon. It's hard to focus on yourself when you are caring for others. She is probably your priority right now. Don't worry about the weight.

Sherri how did you make out at the Dr's?

I spent 2 1/2 hrs at the walk-in clinic last night and the little one has a sinus infection and an upper respiratory thing going on. Got some drugs, hope it will help. She was up to 2 hrs last night. It was hard going to work this morning.

I did good with the take out and got myself a chicken breast salad from subway and a large tea from Tim Horton's. Kind of blew it a bit. When all was quiet, I ate a 1/2 pack of reeces pieces. Ate them because I was tired and overhungry from getting home so late.

Nita, I am sooooo glad your brother in law was found. How scarey for that many days. Poor guy. Let us know when you do. Prayers do work, thank you dear Lord.

Linlin, did you say Reece's Pieces???? Boy, can I relate. Hopefully the meds will work for your daugter. My dd is so drug resistant that we have to pull out the 'big guns' and they are so painful....so if I can keep the temp down, her oxygen up where it should be, and lots of breathing treatments, we go that route first. It is alot of work, but so worth it. Take care of yourself...and you're little sweetheart.

Thanks to each of you for the birthday wishes! I have had a good day, very busy, but nice.

Haven't been around much the past week. I've had a little bug or something. Not sick, just not feeling well.

Nita, I am so glad they found your BIL and all is well. That can be so scary. I've had that happen in my family and it is pure torture, not knowing.

Christian, congrats on being co leader again. I know you will continue doing a good job for your chapter.

Nita, I can relate to your being up in the middle of the night. I have spells that I don't sleep. Often! And it sure makes it miserable the next day.

Wendy, congratulations on being the new leader. It is wonderful that you all have accepted the nominations for offices. I have to say, I declined an office this year. I work and help the officers, but just didn't feel like I could take on another obligation this year. And I can't take an office unless I feel that I can give 110%, and this year I can't.

Eleni, you are really an asset to your chapter. We all need people like you in our chapters. I know you will have a good year.

Sherri, how are you? Hope you are well!!! Let us hear.

Linlin, I hope your little one is greatly improved. And you take care of yourself.

Summer, I know how easy it is to put ones self on the back bnurner when caring for a sick child, but remember, you need to take care of yourself so you can care for others. I know you have heard this before, but when you do that you can get back with a sensible eating plan. Take care...we care.
