Default Snowy Friday

Hi Ladies
How is everyone doing. I know that I havent been on here for awhile. And here is why. I pulled a tendon in my heel. And I am having a little bit of trouble getting around. I'm not suppose to be going up and down steps. But I did today. And I can tell. But I am and was missing my friends here. I will have to read the postings later. But just wanted to check in.
We got about 4 inches of snow last night. So no school today. Son was happy. Snow flurries now. Kinda cold. But I guess it is that time of year.
My Pampered Chef party went well. Had more people show up than what rsvp. But had plenty to eat. I ended up getting $159 worth of stuff for free. So I thought that was pretty good. And there is still more that I would like to get. I know I will have 4 parties to go too. Because 4 people booked parties.
Well I am going to get off here. I just wanted to check in.
Wendy, Sherri, Nita, Summer, Mickey, Am thinking of all of you. Hello to all the newbies. Am thinking of everyone. My eating hasnt been that great this week. Just kinda down. Cant do much. The weather isnt all that nice. And stuck in the house. Cant wait until the weather breaks. Oh I get to pick my treadmill up sometime this month. So I have to get better so I can use it. Am thinking of everyone. Take care!!

Hey everyone!
How are you all doing today? When will SPring come? I hate winter. Can't wait until I can run out the door without five or six layers on. Not to mention, become more active again. The weather is so depressing, and what do I want to do when its depressing. Well, EAT of course! I think I am addicted to bagels. They are so good, and fattening too.
Well, I must go for now. Take care!

I can'r believe the week is already gone. I was away from work for 2 days (minor surgery) and it felt like a weekend, so it's like there's another one starting tomorrow. Yay!

Summer, the walking tapes I bought are Leslie Sansone. 1 mile, 2 miles and 3 miles in a set with weights that you fill with water. In the package I got, there were no instructions on how to fill the weights, so mine are about 1 pound and 12 ounces (I weighed them on my diet scale). I watched the 1 mile tape while I was on the treadmill yesterday. It is good...like a walk you can do on the spot with weight training during, and some stretches afterwards. The first time I saw the tapes they were $80 Canadian (probably about $50 US) in a store that specializes in stuff advertised on TV, but this package I found at Costco for $24 Canadian, so that was quite a saving!! I also bought a set of 5 CDs called "Party Time" which have dance type songs on them. I chose 21 of them to put on my own CD for fast walking, so when the weather improves (and my knees are better) I should enjoy doing that outside. I'm also going to try to do it on the treadmill, but sometimes its a pain having to change the speed all the time to match the tempo of the music.

Sherri - the surgery I had Wednesday was not for my knees. I don't think that can be fixed surgically, although my boss has jokingly volunteered to perform amputation! It is a regular filling of the knees with fluid. Lasts about 5 days, and comes every other week (12 days between the start of one and the start of another). I have it in both knees, and have had it for 5 years this past November. I used to get cortisone shots that would stop the cycle for about 4 months, but that has stopped working. I am now trying herbal treatment to stop the swelling (Lakota). I have had X-rays of my knees and they were pronounced "normal" ! Ha! The diagnosis is that it is one of those "other" forms of arthritis (not rheumatoid, not osteo).

Cecie - sorry to hear your chapter is closing due to low membership. You only have to have 4-6 willing people. That's usually the problem, the word "willing". I am facing elections again this year where everyone just wants to come and sit and let "someone else" do the work. You can have a fairly active chapter that can be in trouble because no one is "willing" to take on those important jobs. The other unfortunate thing is most people seem to have a good excuse, and what can you say. I hope your new chapter suits you. They will be glad to have you!!

Coco - nice to hear from you again. Don't we take our health for granted...until you get a pain you haven't had before and can't even climb the stairs!!! I really enjoy my treadmill in the winter when its cold and dark and icy outside, but I sure prefer regular outdoors walking when the weather allows it.

Virginia from Nova Scotia -- what awful weather you have been having this winter!! Storm after storm (we hear the same from Sherri in New York) ...no wonder you're wishing for spring! Me too! I guess if we are realistic though, we know it's still another 3 months. As for bagels, try to be strong at the store (read the labels for some better choices). If it goes into your cart, it's going into your body. I try not to even go down the aisles that contain my weakness foods. Sometimes all that leaves is the outside edge and the laundry detergent aisle (ha), but fresh fruits and vegetables are better for us anyway.

Hi to everyone else. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Default hi

Work has been a mess lately. A big mess. Sorry haven't been getting on here, haven't had time. Trying to stay busy, and not binge eat. I've been pretty tired lately too. Going to bed at about 8 at night. Missed a couple of days of work due to cold, or some kind of virus. Lips are really chapped. I'm like Virginia, I'm ready for spring. I'm ready to hit the highway, and walk, and get moving. We are already starting to plan our summer vacation. I guess it's us and sister-in-law and family. Gotta make reservations soon. Doing the Platt river in Michigan. Kayaking. Can't wait.
I want to finish this and say hi to everyone, but hubby is ready to go to walmart, grocery shopping time.
you all take care and i'll be back.
