Default Summer Tuesday

Hi Ladies,

Well today is another day. I lost 1 lb overnight but not as much as I thought. I have to lose more then that to overcome my weekend eating. But the main thing is that I am back to journaling so that is a good thing.

My goal for today is to continue to drink my 64 oz of water at a min. and to keep it low in the points range for the day. I know I can do this again today.

Those doing the menu thread it really looks great. The meals you are eating are winning choices.

Christie,

I just read an article last week in the woman's world that said when this lady ate at least 2 meals a week that were fish then it lowered her calories for the week and it kept her fuller then oatmeal would have and she lost weight eating the fish. So you go girl. I hate fish so this one will not work for me. But you go girl. Keep doing the SB and you are on your way back down.

Have a great day everyone. I am taking megan apple picking today and to a corn maze. It should be fun for us today.
It is going to be a warm summer like day today. It is very unusual for us here. But it should be about 80 degrees today. I love it. So we will be out and about for the day to enjoy it while we can.

Default Sunny Tues.

Hi Everyone
Hope everyone is doing ok. Weigh in is for me tonight. Not sure how I will do. But probably have a gain. We will see. Hubby started physical therapy yesterday. Goes back on Thurs. morn. But has exercises to do at home. Has to do them twice a day. Done them once already. So will have to do them again.
The sun is shining here. And suppose to be in the 80's. Kinda warm for this time of year. But it is great. Still need some rain though. The creeks are still really low.
Eating has been so-so. Just cant seem to get back on track again. I am going to set my journal at my spot at the table. And see if that will help. I know I said I was going to do that. But just havent. But have been running alot. So really havent been home alot to eat. Been trying to make the right choice out. But sometimes them fries are just to tempting.
Welcome to the newbies. Great to have you here. This is a great bunch of ladies.

Sherri. Sounds as if you are going to have a wonderful day. You are doing great with the eating. Are you feeling better? Am thinking of you.

FlGal Sounds as if you had a great time at your rally. I think it would be great to hear a weight loss story from some of the Queens and Kings. I think if you hear where they lost alot of weight 100 lbs or so. That that would be exciting. To think that they lost that much. And if they can do it. I can to. And then they could give some advice on how they did it.

To everyone else I am thinking of you. Hope everyone is doing good on plan. Eating right and making the right choices. I know I should be making better choices myself. Have a great day.
A TOPS PAL

Hello everyone. We are having a nice fall day here in Calgary. During the past 4 days we have gone from winter to summer and back to winter again. Friday morning there was snow on the ground. Saturday was a warm summer day, about 80 degrees Fahrenheit (21 Celsius). Saturday was cold and rainy, and Monday morning was cold and snowy again. Go figure!!! We are quite close to the mountains, and that is the cause of most of our unpredictable weather. The mountains are white with snow today--very pretty.

At our TOPS meetings lately, members have been bringing in tips or recipes as part of our ongoing BINGO contest. Last week someone said that she sets 2 exercise goals for each day. Plan A and Plan B. Plan A is usually a harder but weight-loss effective exercise (she used her Nordic Track as an example), and Plan B is an easier exercise (like walking). Her goals might be: 30 minutes on the Nordic Track for Plan A, or 45 minutes walking for Plan B. She does not allow herself to skip both--it has to be one or the other. Of course, preferably Plan A, but if not, then at least Plan B. I thought that is a great tip for those of us who tend to do all or nothing.

The other thing she said (it was part of the program she gave) was to
1. set a goal for the week,
2. plan how you are going to do it,
3. identify the things that might keep you from doing it,
4. plan how you can overcome the obstacles, and
5. give yourself a reward.

This is what I did:
1. 140 minutes of exercise this week.
2. 20 minutes a day for 7 days.(treadmill, watching a TV program I taped)
3. maybe not feeling well or going out (no time).
4. Do more than 20 minutes on some nights to compensate.
5. A bouquet of flowers.
Well, last night I finished my task: tonight I will pick up a bouquet of flowers for my desk at work.

Hope these ideas help. You can choose anything for your goals.

Hello everyone. The sun is shining after a low of 16 degrees last night on our thermometer!!!! BBRRRRRR!!!!

Liz, sounds like your group is passing around some good plans. I like that 5 step program. Our mountains are white and we have had snow in town 3x's. I'm at 10,000 ft in elevation.

Sherri, Sounds like you and Megan are going to have a fun fall activity day. Enjoy! Take one minute at a time if you need to to get the loss you are looking for. The more we fret about it, it seems like we reach for more out of the stress. Do what you know is right and you should be OK. I went and grabbed a HUGE thermos style cup of water when I read your 64 oz.

Coco, don't forget to start journaling. Go get that paper and pencil right now and put it at your table setting! lol. Hope your dh does well with his therapy.

I did pretty good yesterday and real good today, so far, with my eating. I have a meeting tonight with one of my chapters and the Coordinator will be there. Could be interesting, but I think there will be a new chapter that comes out of it and that will be wonderful and very positive. Hey Sherri, you know about the enthusiastic new people that go into negative [[[[vibe]]]] chapters, don't you?????? These folks are acting on it and I am sooooo glad. I hope I can control my emotions the rest of the day and don't blow it for my weigh in tomorrow.

Talk with you all later. Keep thinking of portion sizes, the nutritional value of what goes in the mouth, and where we are eating. Hopefully those 3 things will help me...and you all.

TOPS {{{{{HUGS}}}}},
Summer

Coco,

Hey girl here is your kick in the butt to start journaling. You have to start it is what really helped you the last time. I hope you have a great weigh in tonight. I am sure you will. Don't lose hope at least you have not given up. Yes it is very hard to eat right when you don't eat at home. I know.

Liz,

What crazy weather you have been having. It was 80 here today. It is very unusual for us for an oct day. But I love it. I also love your one step plan. I will try and remember it for when I have to do a program next. I will try it on myself as well. I am working on doing the daily goals. I am doing it a little at a time to get back in the swing of things. Keep going you and your chapter are doing great.

Summer,

Yes I know how it is to be enthusiatic in a dull group. I live it every week.LOL I am glad they had the nerve to move on and start their own group. I am sure it will be a success.
As for you you can keep that snow you have been getting. I don't want it here.
Sounds like you have been doing great on plan for the past few days. I hope the scale is good to you tomorrow.

I did great all day on plan. Not as low as I would have liked but I was about just under the middle of my points range. So I am happy that I kept within my points at all. I went out to lunch with my parents today and megan and I opted for the cup of bean soup and a salad. That was a great choice other then fries and a burger or something greasy. I could have had a bowl of soup but only had the cup.
I also met all my goals for the day also. I kept to my points, drank my water, and I didn't exercise today. I had to give my body a break after all the exercise I did the last 2 days. Maybe that is why the scale wasn't down as much as I wanted it to. But I am taking this one meal at a time and making sure I write down everything like did before when it worked for me. I am not looking for a loss this week because of the weekend. But I will be happy if I get one. But I started on plan too late I think. But I will have a loss next week.
I will give myself a reward of getting the massage I won at the chapter a couple of weeks ago when I meet all my goals for one full week and that means staying on plan for one full week. I can do this and I won't reward myself with food. That is the hard part for me.

Well have a great night everyone.

Eleni how are you doing?

Sherri
