Default Tuesday

Well good morning all.
It is snowing a lot here in michigan, Brandon wasn't feeling to good last night, so I took a vacation day, and stayed home and slepted til 7:30. I have a lot to get done as usual, but not worried about it.
CC- How could anyone ask for more. You know he had to mean it from the bottom of his heart. That is awesome. Hey you were making spag. sauce. Any sugar in it. I just bought 3 jars, with tons of sugar in it. They were on sale. Didn't think sugar content till I got home.
I'm really trying on this sugar thing. And I'm hoping it will work.
Eleni/sherri We had our meeting last night and i suggested the one free weigh-in pass, The comment I got was they didn't think that headquarters would like it. Something in the bylaws (which we just happen to be going over last night) "Any member attending a meeting must weigh-in. The part where you guys put it down in the books as a turtle, could mess up the books at the end of the year. (this was our coleader. Our leader wasn't there. Also, what really gets me is we can go by some of the bylaws and leave them out if we want, but we can't do this.
I thought it was a great insentive. Anyway. Hope everyone has a great day, and I'll check back later.
tops hugs and everything: This is a note I got from my leader about the free pass thing. So I guess our club won't be doing it. From the desk of Penny Redner, TOPS Coordinator #556

Hi Peg:
Free Pass NO! TOPS rules state that all members attending meeting must weigh in. All weights are to be recorded to the official weight charts and they must be exact, accurate weights. And really what good does this do? Members need to feel supported whether they've had a good week or absolutely terrible week. It's times when we do bad that we need that support even more. If your fellow members know by hearing your weight gain during roll call that you're having a tough time--they are even more apt to contact that person during the week and cheer them on. I could see this backfiring big time. A member uses it because they've had a terrible week--they continue to have a terrible week or weeks and when they come back the gain they've had and must state during roll call is even worse than what they would've had to state the week they used the pass.

If this were allowed, did anyone think about how they'd handle weight loss awards--contests--incentives--etc.???
From the desk of Penny Redner, TOPS Coordinator #556. I didn't mention any names or anything so you guys keep it up. I thought it was great. what was 1 time gonna hurt?

Wendy,

I am with you. What is one time going to take for sure. As far as contests go we have stated that you can't use it for a holiday or for contests. That way you won't be entitiled the prize by using the pass. That wouldn't be fair of course. But there are a lot of other time that you could use it. You are right they bend the rules for other things why not this. I think it is because they didn't come up with the idea first.

Good try though.
How is brandon feeling? How are you doing this week? What happened at weigh in girl?

I am doing good. I am back on track as of yesterday after the hotdog roast on sunday. I think I really screwed up for the week though with all the drinks I had and the calories in those drinks. After exercising again yesterday and eating very low points 17 1/2 for the day my scale is still up 5 lbs this morning. I really hope it goes down by thursday. I know that a lot of it is water weight from the drinks so hopefully it will be gone. I had very low carbs yesterday also only 2 things all day that was a carb.

So I am continuing to do good. I won't go backward and get discouraged. I enjoyed myself so much and had such a great time that I am not going to worry about it. If I do have a gain this week then I will lose next week. But I do want a loss of some kind or even a turtle this week would be great.

Keep up the great work ladies. I have exercised for 5 days straight so far this week. I will do it again tomorrow for the 6th day. An extra day of exercise can't hurt.

Hi there. Like I said the free pass isn't legal and it is bending the rules. But it is a positive thing. At our chapter we also do not make a member tell how much they gained. Only that they gained. Then we tell them " See you lighter, Glad you came" We are not there to embarrass anyone. we want to help. For some people having to tell "how much" they gained is horrific for some.
And as far as the correct weights in book the important weight is the first and last. That is weights that are used for Queen, division winners etc.
Whenever I have been leader I have even rewarded gainers just for trying and not staying away from meeting. i will do all kinds of things to reward and make all members feel good and also try to motivate them.
Enough said.
I am still sick with a cold. Hasn't bothered my ability to eat tho.
I am reading the new book by TOPS doctor. "Inspired to lose"
So far it is ok.
Well I feel yucky so I am going to bed early. Hope everyone is ok.

Default HI

Hi everyone
It has been a little while since I posted last. I have been reading the boards everyday though. I weighed in last night. Lost only 1/4 lb. Hubby stayed the same. But at least I didn't gain. I have been having some trouble controling my eating. Especially the last couple of weeks. We had a guest speaker at our meeting last night. She is a Dr in our community. She said we may need to add some more protein and fat in our diet. Cause Hubby is have some of the same trouble. Someone at the meeting said we were just bored and need to do something. I told them I either cross stitch something like that. And Hubby is always tinkering. So I really dont think it is boredom. We have been trying to follow the SB plan. And then I do the points. Except for the last week I didn't. Just ate whatever. So I am going to try and addd more protein and fat into the diet this week to see if that helps. Does anyone else have this trouble? And if so what do you do to help get you through.
Well I better let you ladies go. You are probably tried of my ramblin. Sorry
Eleni I got that book also. Inspired to lose. But I haven't read it yet. Just glanced through it. Seem liked there might several good stories in it.
Well everyone have a good day.
A TOPS PAL
