No one has to do this, but I kinda thought of it on the way here today. This might not get far with me, but I'm going to see if it's a motivator for me. In July our family ( and my husbands family) are taking a trip. We are going to St. Ignace upper Pen. of Michigan. I have two goals. 1. weight loss to lose everyweek, with an average of 1.5 pounds or less (i will take) up until the time we go per week. That will give me about 31.5 pounds off. To set this goal, I'm going to have to break it down even more. The real goal isn't to lose 31.5 pounds, it's to not gain each week. If I have a 1/4 pound off, that is
a smaller more realistic goal.

2. To walk to St. Ignace on my treadmill.
This is about 257 miles. I have 139 days till our trip. that would be almost 2 miles today. I did a mile tonight. I'm thinking this is a totally unrealistic goal. So I've changed it to see where I can go, and in that time. My goal to start off with will be a mile a day. Then I will go from there when I get a little more in shape. I plan on putting a Michigan map up and scaling that starting from my home. So who knows where I will travel on the map in the next few months. I just may sit home some days, but I'm going to see what happens.

So everynow and then I'll let you all know where I'm at.

I LOVE that idea! Wow! That would be so cool to know you could have walked there! I am rooting you on!

Summer, I am 18 mi closer, maybe we could meet in the middle?LOL

Great Idea. What ever helps to get you to exercise. I know I have to force myself as I hate exercise almost as bad as I hate water

I will join you. I am going on a trip in july also. But I have to do it differently then you. I do aerobics. I can take each 1 hour or 1/2 hour session and turn the min. into miles. Like for every 1 hour session I exercise it will be 1 mile. If I only exercise 1/2 hour that will be a 1/2 mile. I can do this. I have to see how many miles it is to missouri. I will figure that one out. I am going to start exercising today again for the week.

Lets go girl I know we can do this. I want to be at goal by then. But like you that is unrealistic. So for me I want to have a loss every week. No matter what it is. That is what I am putting down for the challange this time. So I don't get upset by the numbers. You can never tell what you will lose. And if we lose every week then It will get us closer to goal no matter what.

Lets start traveling girl. I love to travel. I don't know if I can exercise that many miles before july because missouri is a long way from NY.LOL But I will see how far I can get.

Okay wendy I have this all planned out. It is a total of 1650 miles to where I am going. I am actually going to see Christie on this board.

So we are going to do it together. This is how we have it worked out. For every 1 hour of exercise that will equal 15 miles. So we have to workout for 1 hour a day for 5 days to equal the 1650 miles in 22 weeks.

So put us down for 1 hour of exercise 5 days a week to meet our goal to get to our destination.

I am going to do aerobics or walking. Christie is going to do

walking.

Okay I have to change this. I am going to make each day of exercise count as 15 miles. I am finding I don't always have time to do a 1 hour workout. This way I am not stressing over it. So I will do 1 hour if I have time and a min of 1/2 hour if I can't fit in the 1 hour session. At least this way I am working out for at least 30 min. 5 days a week.

This is going to be great. We can do this, I know we can.
I'm putting up an old map, and using the map scale. So many inches a mile. you know.

This sounds great. May I join you?

I am going to CO. in July and I have to figure out how many miles and what I have to do each day and pounds I have to lose in that time. (I should be at goal!) I think it is about 600 miles so it should be easy to do. Maybe that will get me on the treadmill! I need to get going!!!

2/16/02 I haven't had time to work out how much I have to walk each day, but I did do 1 1/2 miles on treadmill this AM and another 1 mile tonight. Have stayed OP except a (1) Hershey Nugget tonight.

So far I have worked out for 2 days and today will be a workout day also. So that will give me 3 days out of 5. I am more then 1/2 way there.

Talking OOPS WHO WAS DOING MY FIGURING

ok, with sherri's help, we've got mine figured out. all i know is i have to walk. so let me update this better. from FEBRURY 14th. I have/had 149 days till my vacation. I'm counting July 12th. I have it off, and I will exercise. I have 257 miles. If I walk 1.7 miles a day. That will get me there. However. Due to not walking on Friday, I'm now behind. But this is what I have so far.
I will do totals once a week. Monday's starting my new week. So totals on Sunday
