I will have to watch Dr. Oz on Oprah. I am anxious to read both books. Does anyone know when the show he did will be shown again on Discovery?

Jane, I know you said you are going back to the WW way of eating ...was it because of anything wrong on the Oz way? Or just your preference? I am wondering if I could really give up processed foods? Yikes....

Looks like our nice weather will cease on Wed. and get nasty by Fri. Of course, we didn't get out of here soon enough. :)
The good news is that Mom's vascular surgeon doesn't need to see her again for a year! And her heart Dr. said a trip would do her good and he doesn't need to see her until April. She just needs to continue walking...which she can do better out there in the warmth.
I didn't shop at all today, so we are going tomorrow to Sears, Kohl's and Elder Beerman. Oh and Old Navy for the teen boys...the teen girls like Kohl.s. I am sure I can get most everything. I have to pick up a few things for DH and hide them in my suitcase. Plus call and order gift cards from some CA stores....I will be done in one fell swoop. (or I am dreaming)

Another day of getting my walk in...and it makes me feel so good.

CRISTINA....Yay for Josh coming home and surprising you. I know you are loving having him there. Give him a hug and a Thank you from me please.

To everyone else...goodnight and sweet dreams.

Sassy...you posted while I was sloooowllllly typing. Lol. Yay for the new meds. and I hope they do the job. Yay also for a DH that helps around the house. I must say mine is pretty darn handy to have around. :)

Sassy_Chick 11-27-2006 10:24 PM

Hi Sue! Yeah I just got to typing away! lol. Yes I think I'll keep my husband. Not only is he handy to have around, he also is very tall so that comes in handy so I don't have to climb up on things! lol.

Good Morning!

Woke up to snow.:yikes: Just what I didn't want to see!!
So my plans are to get a move on this morning and leave early. I don't want to be in late for work and I do plan on driving slow! Grandma driver right here!! :D (no offense to any grandma's here!)

Sassy--I got the $10 IZ Jhanai was wanting. $20 off is fantastic!!!! And there were other sales while I was there so I grabbed a couple things for James. Now I really need to hide them before I go to work, since I have no idea if he'll be home tonight or not......and I have things sprawlled out all over the place.

Cristi--Walking away from places empty handed is nice when trying to save money.....but I really need to get on the ball if I want any gift under the tree! So hopefully next weekend Jhanai & I get a lot done. (providing that there isn't snow...I won't be driving around w/her in the snow)

Jane--I will record Oprah tomorrow. Thanks for letting us know. I'm never home during her show anymore so I missed a lot. (Used to watch her all the time) I DO remember him saying that about a male!!

Jules--Day after Christmas shopping is a lot better. Still a lot of people, just not as crazy. Mostly people are returning items. James & I have joked about moving Christmas to the 27th so we could shop for cheap items.

Sue--Great on the walking. Especially w/you trying to get ready to travel. (or have you already arrived to Vegas and I just don't remember reading that??) So, what do you get a teenage girl?? I'm having a heck of a time w/Jhanai this year. She isn't any help either.

Alrighty....I need to get a move on if I want to travel in snow. I heard on the radio that we're going to be having freezing rain tonight......great.....just great! Hopefully it'll be AFTER I arrive home.

Have a great day!

suetalks 11-28-2006 12:28 PM

Sunny day here. (sorry Marti) They have moved our forecast for colder days up until Fri. But even though Wed. and Thurs. are now supposed to be warmer they say rain both days. Just want the nice weather to saty...please.

Mom and I put off shopping until Wed. Several stores have senior days and she loves the extra discount. SO today I am making some lists...
I also swept the floors and cleaned the bathrooms. Nothing earth shattering. Gonna walk here in a few minutes.

Marti- My teen girls, 15, want those big plushy robes, cutesy p.j's, hoodies of any kind.... They also like scrapbooking things, so I plan to go to Hobby Lobby. I am going to get some of the scissors that cut fancy edges and "teen" looking stickers for their pages. DD is going to let me know what they mentioned for their rooms...so I will have lots of ideas to pick from. One DGD is into photography now, but has a decent camera, so I don't know what I can do with that hobby. Both like girly things...bubble bath, jewelry, etc. They are fun to shop for. The boys, on the other hand, not so fun! Basically Old Navy for hoodies and hats, boxers, flannel sleep pants, socks or jackets. The oldest is getting ready for his own place and I gave him a microwave and toaster....should find out what else he needs.

See you all later...Hope you are enjoying the day!

Hello ladies...

This is going to be a short one as my right arm is a pain today. Yesterday it was my left and today my right. So...the cold is on it's way for sure. Supposed to drop really low tonight and be cold the rest of the week. Not good for my arms/wrists...ouch. Going to the doc on the 6th so will see then what can be done or if I can get something strong to help the pain. Never in my life did I think I would have or get Arthritis, ugh. Anywhoo...

SUE...girls always seem to be easy to buy for. Well, the ones I know anyway. Hoodies are always good and speaking of Hobby Lobby...they have a lot, if not all of their scrapbooking stuff on sale this week...30% off. I was just there again this morning, lol. Picked up some Christmas stickers and got the little 2 ft. tree for next year since most of it was on sale 40-50% off. Can't beat that. I love shoppping online! That's how I do most of mine. It is so much easier having it delivered here instead of fighting crowds. Although, I don't usually fight crowds. I tend to go in the early morning during the week.

JANE...I'll refrain from any comments, lol! :D How is Mary doing? Being in pain with these arms made me think of her and how she is coping. I'll have to try and catch that episode of Oprah Wed. Not sure when Josh and I will be home but it should be by the time she comes on.

SASSY...we had to go and buy a new tree a few years ago. Got rid of the big one and bought a 6ft. slim one. Just don't have the room for a big one...hardly have room for this one. Next year though I am doing a bunch of little bitty trees everywhere and then a 2ft one in the corner on the record player that goes where the tree is. Tired of moving things around just to put a tree somewhere. The 2ft one will be perfect and lest decorating and time. I'm packing things the way I use them this year rather than all of something together. Will be easeir to do next year of all the mantl stuff is together, etc. And yes, you were right the first time. Josh is departing on the 11th. Glad you got some new meds and hope they work better for ya. I just picked up a digital camera for Josh at Target this morning. He picked out an Olympus that I really like...need to get one for me and Vince, lol! I've got to get him a couple other things as well.

MARTI...yeppers, you are right. I did pick up a few things for Carrie while in the mall Sunday. I get sidetracked with all the Christmas decorations on sale and tend to buy more of that stuff instead of what I go for, lol. Anyway, she wanted all books but I can't just get here a gift card for books so got her a few other things. This is why I tend to go over the limit on what I am supposed to spend, lol.

JULES...I loved the surprise but I had a banner all planned to take to the airport and a flag. He said he was glad because he would have been embarrassed, lol! He felt funny when they got off the plane to all the people clapping in support of them in Dallas. I told him he should be proud.

Hi everyone else!

Okay ladies, I need to get going. This really isn't making my wrists feel any better. Nothing special going on...went and ran some errands and now I need to get the living room cleaned. All the stockings are in the chair waiting to be finished so I can get those mailed the first of next week. I didn't get Josh's room cleaned up all the way because I thought I had time since he didn't call, lol! That's what I get, lol. And trying to get some laundry done in between. So...

Take care ladies and I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

suetalks 11-28-2006 08:59 PM

Oh thanks Cristina...I appreciate the Hobby Lobby news...I will definitely go there tomorrow.

Just passing through...Goodnight ladies.

Sassy_Chick 11-28-2006 09:16 PM

Hi Gurlsssss

Hi Gurls!

Well I got a late start today. I didn't go to sleep until late so I woke up late. Aw well. I did get a few things done at least. ;)

DH called, said they are stopping for tonight. (he's helping our friend move into his new house) Well I guess ALL of our friend's "help" bailed on him. So it was just DH and our friend moving and he is married and has 5 children! So you can imagine they have quite a bit of stuff. DH did say that our friend's wife and their oldest daughter (who is 15) helped as much as they could. One thing that p.o. DH was that our friend's wife's brother came and sat on his butt WATCHING them bust butt moving and only put in one measely light switch! I told DH if it were me and it was my house, I would have told him, "Either move your bum or get out! But your not going to sit there and WATCH me work!" Brother or not.

I guess they have gotten most of the big stuff done, which is good, but they still have some left so DH said he will go back over tomorrow to help finish up. One thing though our friend kept thanking him over and over again and also said that whenever we move that he will come and help move until its all done. So I am holding him to that one! lol. I have heard that SO many times when my DH busts his butt helping someone move and they
"say" oh once you move I will help you until its done and then either they bail or they only come for an hour or two. Well I will personally go and pick his butt up and make sure he stays if that happens! lmao. I don't think he'll do that to us though. But it has happened to hub A LOT. But he always helps because he knows what its like to not have any help.

Sometimes though I wish he would learn to say no. Everybody looks at my husband and because he is so big and tall, think, "oh lets get him to help me move" Yes my husband can lift quite a bit, but he also has bad knees too. I don't mind him helping people out but I worry especially when I know its just him and one other person. Guess I'm just a worry wort. lol.

Well hub just called, he is on his way home now, so that is good. I told him lastnight to start wrapping things up around 8 or 9, I figured that was long enough as he left here at 11 a.m. this morning. Plus he has a 45 minute - 1 hr. drive home from there. So I didn't want him driving when he was dead tired either.

Marti -- Your like me I drive like a "Grandma" too in bad weather, I figure I would rather go slow and get there in one piece than to speed and not get there. I learned my lesson about that when I was young and stupid. Waited until the last minute to leave for work and it was cold out but no snow or nothing out, but I was driving the speed limit, but hit a patch of black ice and did a complete 360 degree turn and ended up in a ditch. Luckily me nor nobody else got hurt and neither did my car, amazingly enough. But it scared the heck out of me! lol.

Sales are great, I love to save $$$, who doesn't, right? :D But its always great when you know you got a good deal. ;)

Hi Sue -- it was warm here too (also sorry Marti!) But I know we are supposed to get our snow on Thurs and/or Friday.

Cristina -- boy do I know what you mean about "predicting weather" for me its my spine that I have arthritis in. So I can always tell when weather is coming in about a day or so before. lol. My mil did give us a small tree we have used last year or so that is small that all we have to do is take it out of the box and Vola! I told hub that is definately my kinda tree! lol. But he is the Christmas Guy, so its up to him if he feels up to putting up the big tree or not. If it were up to me, the small tree would be used every year. lol.

Well I hope you all have a Great Night!
