Good morning gals! I hope your Tuesday morning started out well. For Jean, here are your recipes.
Bleu cheese and olive ball
1/2 cup softened butter
1 blue cheese (I buy treasure cave) you can get lower fat in this
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 (12 ounce) can/jar black or green olives, chopped (full jar is too much and too salty)
Small package chopped nuts your choice (I used pecans)
Mix the cheese together than add olives. Dump mixture out onto plastic wrap and form into ball. Pour nuts onto dinner plate or pie plate and roll ball into nuts. Cover and refrigerate.
White Chocolate Gorp
INGREDIENTS
2 pounds white chocolate
6 cups crispy rice cereal squares, e.g., Rice Chex ™
3 cups toasted oat cereal (I used Cheerios)
2 cups thin pretzel sticks
2 cups cashews (you can use peanuts)
1 (12 ounce) package mini candy-coated chocolate pieces
DIRECTIONS (I used full size and they did ok)
Melt chocolate in a large saucepan over low heat or in microwave until just until soft. Stir until melted. Combine all the other ingredients in big roaster pan or bowl. Stir chocolate into mixture. Turn out on waxed paper. Of course anything you like can be added or substituted-but this recipe is a great combination!
Combine the crispy rice cereal squares, toasted oat cereal, pretzels, cashews and candy in big roaster pan or bowl. Stir chocolate into mixture. Turn out on waxed paper and let cool.
Maggie: Sounds like you are working hard to hit the road again. It does take a lot of time to get a computer up and running, etc. It can be a pain. Sounds like dh will have a lot of fun with the stagecoach.
Jean: Hang in there you just have today and tomorrow then you can enjoy your holiday time off. Nice of the asst prinicipal to stop by, huh?
I have the back finished on the sweater and will start on the front this morning. So far, so good. I would really like to get two handbags knitted and felted for my dil and dd and a shrug for my dd for Christmas. If I can get the sweater done by the weekend I should be able to. The purses look like they are a snap to make on circular needles so very little sewing involved and the shrug is done on very big needles so that would whip up fast too. I am having to learn what all these clothing pieces are. I didn't even know what a shrug was. I do think my dd would like it though and I found the perfect varigated yarn called natural green that has a beautiful spring green, light tan, very light peach and very light brown. Thought it would look nice with her hair color. I am leaving the baby stuff until after Christmas so I can get all the rest of this stuff done. I truly do enjoy knitting now that I have taken it back up again and hope I can learn while I am knitting. I have to say I have already learned a lot about some stuff.
I hear Jack upstairs showering so I guess I will get him some breakfast going!
You all have a great day today!
Faye

It's been a beautiful day in my neighborhood! We made a WM run for more cough syrup and then to the grocery store to get my salad stuff for Thursday when Bob got home. He's still coughing and it goes in spurts . . . nothing and then when he starts he can't stop. We had a nice surprise today . . . my car seat bu** warmer quit working so we took it in to the dealer this morning before school. The warranty runs out 11/28 . . . $600+ worth of parts and labor covered. Whew! Usually my luck seems to run the other way. They had to order the parts so hopefully they will get it fixed by next week.
I can't remember how long we've known each other, but I've been waiting and waiting for you to visit Iowa in your travels!
You are just a knitting whiz for sure!
tomorrow and all goes well with his prosthesis appointment! Lucky you to have 5 days off! By the time you read this I will say that I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
from Iowa!
Got to stop and say "howdy!"
